Chapter 1

Heaven

"Heaven! Get your lazy ass up!" I wake up to my dad yelling at me.

I groan and roll out of bed. "Okay! I'm up!" I yell back at him.

"Don't yell at me young lady!"

I roll my eyes and walk into my bathroom. I get into the shower and smile as the warm water runs over my body. So my name is Heaven Ali Lakota. My friends call me Hal for short because my initials spell H. A. L. I have blond hair and gray eyes with long, white eyelashes. I'm 5'3 and I'm average when it comes to weight.

When I get out of the shower and finish getting ready, I go downstairs to face my two parents. My parents are both alcoholics and they both have anger issues. I don't get how they have anger issues and I'm pretty calm.

I walk into the kitchen and see my mom sitting at the table. She's reading the paper and drinking coffee. She looks like every other mom with her dirty blond hair and green eyes. Her name is Lindsey.

"Hi Mom" I said as I walk to the fridge to get an apple.

"You need to get to school, so don't chit chat and just leave already" she said oh so nicely.

"Love you too" I said sarcastically. I walk out of the kitchen and walk right into my dad.

"Move out of my way!" he yelled.

"Sorry" I mumbled. My dad's name is Michael. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He's really tall too.

I grab my bag off the coffee table by the door and leave. I pick up my skateboard from off the porch and ride off to school.

I get to school and go to the table where my friends are. I hang out with a group of people even though I don't like some of them.

My three best friends come running up to me and I smile. "Hey guys" I said as they reach me.

"Hey!" Bailey said with a smile. Bailey is as tall as me with black hair and brown eyes. She has a country accent and everyone thinks it's adorable. You can always count on Bailey to cheer you up.

My other best friend, Jocelyn, hugs me and says, "Good morning Hal."

"Morning." Jocelyn is a really pretty brunette. She has freckles and green eyes. She's much taller than me and she is really skinny. Jocelyn is the girl you go to if you want gossip.

"Well where is my hug?" my favorite best friend, Milly asked.

I smile and give her a hug. Milly is a little taller than me and has black hair with red tips. She has blue eyes with dark, thick eyelashes. She always has good advise and she is always willing to help me out.

"So anything new happen?" I asked. There is always drama in this group.

"Not really. Jess and Max got back together but that's it" Jocelyn said with a frown. She loves drama and is usually upset when there's no drama going on.

"Oh." I look over at the group and see Jess and Max holding hands.

I also see Tyler and Rick hitting each other in a fake fight. Kayla, Natalie, Ginger, and Bonnie are sitting together, talking. Jake and Doll are making out and Elly and Greg are flirting. Sean is listening to his Ipod off to the side. This is the group, including Bailey, Jocelyn, Milly, and I.

The bell rings and I head to my first period. Ginger runs up to me so we can walk together since we have class together next. "Hey" I said.

"Hi."

We get to class and sit down next to each other. The teacher walks in and starts talking about the math problem on the board. I groan inwardly. I hate math so much.
