The rodeo was tonight.
Pete was riding.
I walked in & seen Chloe & Lacey together.
I sat with them and we watched the first few bull riders.
"So I think I'm gonna break up with Pete." Chloe sighed and I looked at my hands.
"What! Why?" Lacey asked, worried about her cousin.
"We're better off as friends. I think I finally realise that."
"Well at least you two can stay friends."
"Yeah."
Let's just hope she goes through with it.
Peters name was called over the loud speaker and we looked into the pens.
There he was.
I could see the hold he had on the bull and I sighed.
Please don't get hurt.
His 8 seconds began and I swear I stopped breathing.
By the time he was off the timer had stopped.
He was the champion bull rider.
I got up cheering with Lacey and Chloe grabbed my hand.
"Oh no." She mumbled and I looked down at her.
"Chloe?" I asked, feeling her grip on me tighten.
"She's here."
"Who's here?"
"Jessica, I slept with her boyfriend last week and she caught us."
"Wait you cheated on my cousin?" Lacey asked, leaving her seat and walking away.
"Lacey!" I yelled, trying to get Chloe to move so I could go get her.
"Chloe! You slut! Come here." The girl, jess, yelled out and I stood between them.
"Look, this shouldn't be done in front of others and their kids. Why don't we go downstairs and sort this out there."
"Shut up bitch."
"Hey, you don't talk like that. Now move and let's go downstairs."
She punched me in the face.
PUNCHED ME.
I didn't even know who the hell she was.
I fell to the ground and Chloe got in front of me.
I took my hands off my nose and they were covered in blood.
"Chlo?" I heard his voice and I put my head back down.
"What the hell is going on here?" He yelled, then seen me on the floor clutching my nose.
"Kali, what the ..."
Then he seen the blood on my face and in my hands.
"Who the fuck hurt you?"
"Me, and I'd do it again." Jessica laughed, and I knew she really shouldn't have said that.
"Peter, I need to tell you something." Chloe mumbled, but he kept glaring at Jessica.
"I cheated on you, with him." She said, pointing at the guy behind Jessica.
"What." He growled, even making me scared.
"I'm sorry, but we were having problems."
"So you go and cheat on me!"
"I'm sorry!"
"So why did you punch Kali?" He yelled at the girl and she shrugged.
"She got in my way."
"Well I'm about to get in your way."
"Pete." I said, pointing at my nose, "I think it's broken."
He punched the other guy that Chloe slept with in the face and he fell to the ground too.
He grabbed me and carried me down to his Ute.
"I'm sorry." He whispered, while Chloe ran after us.
"Kali, I'm really sorry."
"It's fine Chloe."
"Pete..." she started but he shook his head.
"Don't Chloe, we're done."
"I'm sorry, I really am."
"I don't believe you at all." He groaned, closing my door and walking around to the drivers side.
"Stop Chloe, I have to get her to the hospital."
He jumped in and started driving.
"Thank you." I sighed, as he handed me a shirt to put on my nose to stop the blood.
"I was gonna kill that girl."
"I know." I laughed and he looked over at me.
"I can't believe I'm in the bull riding champions Ute, I'm honoured." I said, trying to lighten the mood.
He let out a laugh and I smiled.
"How come you didn't tell her about us?"
"I don't need to."
"How do I tell jake? And how do I tell your family? They will seriously all hate me."
"They won't hate you, and that doesn't matter. You said you wanted to end this. So it's fine."
"Pete, I don't want to end this. That's the complete opposite of what I want to do."
"Then lets make this work."
