"Hey Kali, can I talk to you for a second?"

"Yeah course what's up Lace?"

"Is there something going on between you & my cousin?"

"I'm dating your cousin." I laughed and she shook her head.

"Not that one, that one." She nodded to the side and I seen Pete, looking straight at us.

"God no, why would you think that?" I whispered to her.

"He's been watching you all night Kali, please don't do anything to hurt Jake."

"That's the last thing I'd ever do. Thank you for coming to me Lace."

I gave her a hug and we went to walk past Pete, when I flicked his hand, basically saying we really need to talk.

He stiffened up and I kept walking with Lacey when we finally sat down with Chloe.

"I'm so tired." She groaned and I laughed, hugging her and giving her one of my drinks.

"You guys, I think I'm gonna break up with Pete."

"Wait what, why?" Lacey asked, and I was equally as shocked.

"I just feel like we're growing apart, and I wanna move away."

"And he won't go with you?" I asked, feeling really bad for her.

"He's told me he won't."

"Chlo, he loves you, he'll move for you."

"He won't. We've been talking about it for ages."

I looked over and Pete was nodding to the back shed.

I looked back at Chloe and said I'd go get her a water.

I walked towards the shed when Derek caught up to me.

"Where you heading? Going to ride a tractor?" He laughed and I smiled.

"Was gonna steal one but now that you've caught me I guess I can't anymore." I laughed and he grinned.

"Dad! Got anymore beers in ya fridge?" Pete interrupted, walking over to us.

"Yeah, ya know Kali's trying to steal one of my tractors."

He laughed and said,
"I'm sure she was. Can you get me a beer?"

"You've got legs and they work a hell of a lot better than mine."

"Mum wanted you anyways."

"Oh god." He groaned and walked off to the house where his wife was.

"Pete, your cousin is getting suspicious."

"About what?"

"Don't. I'm serious, this needs to stop."

"Okay then we'll stop." He said.

"Okay good." I replied.

"Okay great." He said, glaring at me.

"Okay." I mumbled, walking away and towards jake.
