Anne Shirley Cuthbert's POV

I looked around trying to find Gilbert. When I finally saw him. He was with Violet. I was starting to get sad again but I pushed it away. Since, there were other priorities for now.

I went towards the food and ate a piece of carrot cake.

"Hey, Anne. I made it. Do you like it?" asked Josie.

"It's delicious. Really smart idea, Josie."

"It wasn't mine."

"Who's was it?"

"Gilbert's."

"Of course."  I scoffed.

"Hey ladies." said Billy coming towards us.

"Hey Billy."

"Are you okay? I was going to visit Gilbert today but he was sleeping all day. I saw him last night though. He seemed pretty well."

"I'm pretty well too."

"I'm glad. You should probably at least try one more time to talk to Gilbert, Anne."

Josie nodded in agreement.

"I have an idea."

"Great. Good luck. We need to go and dance. Feel free to join us. Goodbye." said Josie and Billy nodded.

I need to find him...

There he is.

"Charlie." I said as he came towards me holding hands with Diana.

"Anne, don't you look lovely." He said with a smile.

"Thank you." I returned the smile. "I need your help."

"With what?"

"Tell Gilbert that you need to talk to him privately because you are freaking out about your date with Diana and tell him to meet you outside by the river and I'll be there waiting. In fifteen minutes. Say all these things when he is with Violet. But, somehow let him know that it's me who will be waiting for him. "

He nodded and left.

"Diana my dear friend. You look like a princess that came out of a fairytale." I said hugging her.

She was wearing a red dress with puffed sleeves.

"Why thank you. You look dashing tonight princess Cordelia."

I smiled kindly and nodded.

"Thank you, miss. That was very kind of you to say. Now, if you'll excuse me. I have to go."

"You are excused."

We simply laughed and I went outside.

I waited for about ten minutes until Gilbert walked out.

I quickly stood up as he came towards me.

"Hello, Anne."

"Hello, Gilbert."

"Charlie told me that you needed to talk to me about something."

"That is correct. Can you please hand me the letter?"

"Why?"

"I have a theory and if it's not too much work I want you to check my letter out and tell me if you wrote it."
