We got home at 9.45pm. Home as in our parents house next door. Everyone was in the sitting room, including Trent, Joel, Cole and Kasey.
"What's the occasion?" I asked, they all smiled "So you've heard then?"
"It's great news" Dad beamed. Okay...proud parent in overload here. Kane took my hand and squeezed it.
"Baby girl do you want to tell them the news?" He rubbed my stomach. Everyone's mouths dropped open. Good job I can act,
"No...you tell them" I answered shyly,
"We're having a baby too"
"WHAT" Dad boomed.
"You're...you're..." Susannah stuttered,
"Only a week gone" I said,
"KANE JOEY TURNER A WORD...PLEASE"
We both burst out laughing, Wyatt looked at me and smiled. Glad he finally figured we were joking.
"I don't find this funny" Susannah said
"This is a joke right" Trent said,
"You...should...have...seen...your...faces..." Kane said through his laughing fit,
"I'm not really pregnant...I promise...it's a joke"
"THAT WAS NOT FUNNY" Dad shouted,
"Kane...Lyric, upstairs before Charlie blows a fuse" Susannah said,
"Kane...I think you made my Dad hate you" I told him as we walked up the stairs,
"Probably...but it just came into my head and it felt like it was the right moment to do it...thanks for playing along"
"Hey their faces were a classic" I said flopping on the bed. "Just steer clear of him for a few days okay"
"I don't need to be told" The door opened and Joel came in,
"I honestly thought you guys were serious...I thought I had to kill you Kane"
"Yeah sorry 'bout that...just seemed like a now or never moment"
"My Dad's still fuming by the way"
"Figured as much"
"So were you all in their because of Trent's news?" I asked
"No...not just that...Cole and Kasey are moving into their own place in town, Cole's not road tripping and obviously neither is Trent now"
"My brothers moving out" Kane said,
"Yep"
"Where is he?"
"Downstairs still I think" Kane left the room,
"Your really not pregnant are you?" Joel asked,
"No Joel, I'm really not pregnant...I would have told you as soon as I knew"
"Well you two oughta go to drama school then..go down the acting route"
"Well what can I say...I'm talented" I smiled
"So it's just you, me, Kane and Wyatt for the first few days of our road trip"
"The old gang back in business" I said.
