11pm...
We'd driven 8 hours straight and were in San Angelo.
You beauty!
Our home state of Texas. The down side was, we still had about 7 and a half hours left until we'd be home. Kane wanted to drive through the night so we'd get there the early hours of tomorrow morning and surprise everyone. So that's what we're doing.
"Are you sure you want to keep driving Baby?" I asked,
"Yes. I just want to get us all home"
"I'll swap places with you Bro" Wyatt suggested,
"Thanks, but I'm okay honest"
So Kane carried on driving, we were approaching some traffic lights, they were on green. Kane pulled out and we were about to turn, when this car came hurtling through on a red...
"KANE" I screamed, then it all went black.

My eyes forced themselves open, I was trapped under something, and there was blood and metal and fear.
"Kane" I croaked,
"Baby girl" I heard a faint reply, well I think I did.
"Rics"
"Sis"
This wasn't meant to happen.
Sirens were now wailing in the background. I felt so far away from everything right now, faintly I could feel pain, but it kept going away then coming back and then the most miraculous thing happened.
I heard my Dad's voice...

My eyelashes fluttering, I opened my eyes. Though blurry, I could see Joel and Wyatt stood talking to someone. Kane...maybe?
What the hell happened?
The car...it did crash didn't it...?
But then why am I...
"They're going to wake up though right" Wyatt said
"I'm afraid I can't honestly say yes or no"
"You have to, you have to do something" Joel pleaded,
"I'll do all I can to make them comfortable, but we're going to be playing the waiting game until they wake up"
"But you said you don't know if they'll wake up" Wyatt said,
"I don't. I'm sorry, but the best thing you can do is sit and talk with them, they are both stable, but we won't be able to determine anything further until they wake up"
They...wake up...but I am awake...who is they?
Why can't they see that I'm awake?
