His Abused Mate

Chapter 12

Alex's P.O.V.

When I opened my eyes, I got the feeling like something was going to happen. Jenna still hasn't come back and I feel like a crappy mate for not trying harder. Every week we have a meeting on what to do. We've exhausted all options and we're thinking her pack is the last one. They've been very quiet. No disturbances like they have in the past. We're planning to attack tomorrow. It's been 3 months and I'm pretty sure my pack and family are wanting me to do more and are getting annoyed with my constant sulking.

I make my way down stairs for breakfast when Abby, the pack slut, comes up to me. Yes every pack has one. I wish she got the point. I'm looking for my mate.

"Hey babe." She says and tries to sound seductive but it ends up sounding like a dying cat compared to Jenna.

"Go away Abby. I'm not in the mood today and I will never be." I say pushing past her but not after I see a disappointed face. I laugh internally and reach to grab the oatmeal but she puts her hand on my chest. I don't even hesitate a second before saying with a growl, "Get. Off. Now." I know I'm being harsh but it's been three long months without Jenna and I'm reaching my boiling point.

"But baby," she whines and I thank the moon goddess when Holden walks in and says, "He said get off Abby. I know I'm not the Alpha but I will get you banished. He's searching for his mate, now if you want to live I suggest you get away from him and me. Now." Abby huffs in annoyance and stomps out.

"Thanks man." I say with a smile and hand him a bowl for his cereal. He nods and pours himself some honey nut Cheerios and takes a seat on one of the wooden stools at the island in the kitchen. After I make my oatmeal I join him.

"I don't know what to do. It's been three months." I say and look up at him.

"I don't know either dude. Maddie is blaming herself saying that she shouldn't have ran off yadda yadda yadda but I keep trying to tell her it's not her fault." He says with sympathy swirling in his eyes.

"Yeah I know. Hey did you get a feeling that something is going to happen today? Because when I woke up I got a weird feeling." I ask because it's been bugging me.

"Yeah I guess so, I mean today feels a little different but not by much. Sorry man." With that he gets up, pats my shoulder, and goes back upstairs to check on Maddie.

"Ok." I say out loud and clear my bowl. I walk out of the kitchen and out the front door. I really need a run. I take off and once pass the edge of the woods I strip and shift. I leave my clothes in a tree and start running.

After my run it's around lunch time and I'm feeling better. I really needed a run, I haven't had one in about 2 weeks. I go up stairs and shower. The warm water that is cascading down my back helps relax me and for a moment I'm stress free. When I'm done I get out and put on jeans and my white v-neck that Jenna loves. I was about to grab a book and read until I heard a commotion down stairs and felt Adian get anxious. I hurry down stairs and before I reach the bottom I turn and see...

Jenna!?

She smiles and reaches up to touch her head. She says and before she falls I rush over to her and catch her in my arms. I smile as the familiar tingles from holding my mate return and shoot up my arms. I feel tears fall onto my cheeks and hear the words I've missed for three months, "I love you." Then I feel her go limp in my arms. I panic and put my ear up to her chest and let out a breath I've been holding when I hear a heartbeat. I look up to see shocked faces of my pack.

"Someone get Dr. Anderson!" I say annoyed that they're all standing there after their Luna just returned and passed out in my arms. Holden nods and runs off.

"You're gonna be okay love. I've got you." I whisper into Jenna's ear and then Dr. Anderson walks up.

"Bring her to the ER." He says sternly. Under normal circumstances I would have gotten angry but it's for my mate. I nod and carry her there. When I set her down on the crisp white sheets of a hospital bed I look down to see my shirt covered in her blood. I look up at the doctor with a panicked face.

"Help her. Please!" I beg him.

"Okay but you'll have to leave. I'm sorry Alpha." He says and Adien tries to surface. Oh heck no!

"No! She's my mate!" I say and some other nurses rush in and I feel someone take my arm. I turn to see that's it's Maddie.

"Come on, let's go. She's in good hands." She looks my dead in the eyes and I know not to fight. I nod my head and turn to leave but not before placing a lingering kiss on my mate's lips.

It's been 2 hours since I left Jenna in the ER. I'm getting restless and just as I'm about to get up and barge in, a nurse comes out and motions for me to come in. I practically run in and sit in a chair next to my sleeping mate who is comfortably under some blankets.

"How is she?" I ask as I grab her soft hand but I notice two symbols next to each other. One is a green leaf and one is a red flame. I check her other hand and they're there as well. I look up at Dr. Anderson for an explanation and he sits down next to me, takes off his glasses, and begins, "Well, first off, she's absolutely fine. She's asleep and I don't know when she'll wake up but she'll be okay. She has a few bruises and scars from the abuse but those should be gone in a few days. Second, did you know that she was pregnant?" He asks and I nod.

"Wait, what do you mean was?" I ask hoping he's not going to say what I think he's going to say.

"She lost the pup. I'm so sorry. She under went so much abuse and was fed very little that the pup couldn't grow. Don't worry, she'll be able to conceive again, but I don't know how soon you'll want to do that. The symbols on her hand represent the elements she can control. She is the last Guardian of the wolves and is prophesied to protect the were race. She can control all of the elements but it will take time for them to develop." He says in all seriousness. 

"Does she know? About the powers I mean." I ask afraid that she will be in danger.

"Yes, I'm guessing so. She had to do something to get the marks. I'll leave you alone with her." I nod and look back at my amazing mate.

"Oh Jenna, what have we gotten ourselves into this time?"

Chapter 12!!! It's a long one too :) all in Alex's P.O.V..

How was it? I know I updated yesterday but I just have so much time it's awesome. I'm also getting a lot of ideas.
