His Abused Mate

Chapter 20

Jenna's P.O.V.

~A month later~

It's been a month since Maddie has told us about her baby and right now I'm puking my guts out into the toilet.

"Are you okay?" Alex says while holding back my hair and rubbing my back.

"Yeah. No, I don't know." I say and grab the wet washcloth and wipe my face. I sigh and lean back into Alex's arms. I feel him kiss my forehead and I close my eyes trying to calm down. I hear a knock at the door and turn to look to see Maddie at the door frame holding something behind her back.

"Hey." She says with a sympathetic smile. She's about a month or so along and her stomach is getting bigger. Holden is really protective, which is expected.

"Hey." I say and manage a half smile.

"Can I talk to you real quick? Without Alex?" She says and I nod. I stand up and Alex just rolls his eyes. I giggle and push him out of our room. I sit down on the bed and motion for Maddie to join me. She still hasn't shown me what's behind her back.

"So?"

"Well, um, when I was first pregnant, uh-" she says looking down.

"Spit it out girlie!" I say with a laugh.

"I think you might be pregnant." She says and pulls her hand from behind her back which is holding 3 pregnancy tests. I shake my head and push them away.

"I can't be. Yeah Alex and I had sex last week but-" I say and Maddie cuts me off.

"When I was first pregnant I got really nauseous all the time. Just try. Please. I know you don't want one because of your powers and the wedding and maybe even because of Lilah. But what happened to your baby girl won't happen again. We'll protect you and I know for a fact Alex will. He loves you so much. He doesn't shut up about you. So please?" She says and I sigh. I want a family but is now a good time? I have to defeat an ancient sorcerer and I don't want my pup caught up in all that. But Alex wants one so bad. I nod and take the tests.

I'm sitting on the bed messing with my fingers and glancing at the clock. I had to wait 5 minutes. Maddie left so I could look at them in my own time. And probably because she wanted blueberries. I hear the timer ding and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I slowly stand up and walk over to the bathroom. I take a deep breath and with a shaky hand look at the tests one at a time.

All positive. I drop them in the garbage and look in the full size mirror. I'm pregnant? How will Alex take it? I know he wants to start one but-

"Oh whatever. Let's gets this over with." I say and fix my hair and walk downstairs. I go into the kitchen to look for Alex and I was greeted with a sight that made my blood boil. Abby, basically the pack slut, had her disgusting lips on my mate's. I could almost hear my heart breaking but then it turned into pure rage. I looked again and Alex's face was one of shock/disgust and he looked like he was trying to get away. I internally smiled but kept my frown clear on my face as a growl ripped from my throat.

"Get away from my mate bitch." I growled. She pulled away and Alex wiped his lips.

"Or what." She said placing her hands on her hips. I don't even respond and I go up to her and punch her straight in the nose. I smirked when I heard a crack. She screamed and ran out crying. I looked over at Alex who was shocked.

"What?" I asked.

"You're bad ass babe." He said and placed a kiss on my lips.

"I know, hey can we talk in your office?" I ask and he frowns but nods nevertheless. I take his hand and walk up to his office. Once we get there I sit facing him on the couch. I look down at my hands hoping he doesn't sense how nervous I am. He lifts my chin so he can look into my eyes.

"Love, what's wrong?" He asks when he sees my eyes brimming with tears. I smile and hug him. He's shocked and eventually wraps his arms around me. I pull back and wipe my eyes. I let out a watery laugh and take his hand. I open up his palm and place it on my stomach. His eyes widen in realization and I nod. He laughs and picks me up and spins me around.

"I'm going to be a dad!" He says when he sets me down. He kneels down and peppers feather light kisses all over my stomach and I try my hardest not to cry again. 

"Shhhh! I'll tell everyone else excuse you!" I say with a laugh and pull him up so I can kiss him. Once we break away we decide to head downstairs.

"Maddie, Holden, Seth, Will!!" I shout and about a minute later they all come walking in the living room. They look at me funny once they see Alex and I's facial expression. "I have an announcement."

"I do too actually. I was going to find you guys to tell you but you go first." Maddie say sitting down with Holden.

"No you go." I say to her as Holden wraps his arms around Maddie's waist placing his hands on her stomach. I smile because Alex is doing the same thing.

"Well I picked a name for the baby!" Maddie says with a smile and looks up at Holden. I know they've been discussing this for a while and I'm glad they came to a conclusion.

"So? What is it?" I ask getting nervous for my announcement.

"Asher Leo Hoffman." She says her smile growing even more.

"Awwww" I say and look up at Alex and he nods.

"So what's yours?" Seth asks. He and Will marked each other about 2 weeks ago and from what I know, they haven't completed the mating yet.

"Well," I say looking at everyone, "there will be another addition to the family!" I say with a smile.

"Oh my gosh! Seriously?!" Seth says with a huge grin. "Congrats!" I nod and lean back into Alex's arms. Maddie gets up and hugs me much to Alex and Holden's annoyance. Alex and I decide to go up to our room just to watch a movie and have a lazy day for the rest of the day.

"I love you so much." Alex says wrapping his arms around my waist while sitting on the bed.

"I love you too." I say and place a small kiss on his lips. For the next few hours we just relax and enjoy the other's presence.

It's the little things that make me love this man even more everyday. If it's even possible.

Heyyyy! Chapter 20. So Jenna's pregnant?! Thank you guys for all the name suggestions. Asher won by a landslide. I came up with the middle name 😉

Sorry it's sort of a filler chapter but a lot will happen, good or bad, in the next few so hold on.
