i rub my eyes as i slowly get up from the mattress settled on the floor, revealing a ray of sunshine amongst the slightly-opened blinds.
as i am in a sitting position, i check the bed which was next to me.
no one there— lauren has already woken up.
i then head downstairs, revealing mer making some pancakes, with lauren and johnny eating some.
"good morning, sleepyhead." lauren chuckles.
"morning, kenz." johnny says.
how awkward.
"hey mackenzie! i made some pancakes for you, right beside lauren." mer happily says as lauren taps the seat next to her.
i take a seat, and i look at the plate which has pancakes and syrup. yummy.
once i take a bite, i hear johnny satisfyingly sigh.
"delicious." he says as syrup drips on his plain white t-shirt.
"you're disgusting." lauren says, johnny sticks his tongue out in reply.
"so guys, the zieglers have decided that we all go on a forest trip! maddie's college finally gave her a small break, we will be staying at the cabins for about 5 days." mer says.
"how cool!" lauren eagerly says.
"can i bring lily?" johnny asks. no you can't, idiot.
"johnny, this is a family trip along with some family friends. have a break from lily for once." mer says. yes.
"we have 3 cabins. 2 cabins for 4 parents, and 1 cabin to all share for the kids." mer says, johnny groans.
"do i seriously have to share a cabin with my sister?" johnny says. wow, someone's grumpy.
"come on, john. we've shared a room until we were 11." lauren says.
"whatever." johnny says.
