i grabbed my jacket and blasted out of the house, negative thoughts were already bursting in my head.
i ran and ran, trying to get to the hospital which was just a few blocks away.
damn you, stoplight.
come on, come on, faster!
the stoplight sent the green pedestrian sign and there i was again, running as fast as i can.
i didn't mind the glares that people were giving me, i've had them before anyway.
the automatic glass hospital doors opened, and i rapidly pressed the up ↑ button of the elevator.
the doors opened again and i ran to his room.
i opened the door,
and there he was.
his eyes were slowly opening, with lauren and mer smiling and crying at the same time.
i ran to johnny, and hugged him gently.
once i let go, he let out a confused face, like he didn't know what was going on.
"who are you?" he asks.
i let out a small giggle.
"stop joking john, it's me!" i say, smiling.
"who are you?" he asks yet again, and i let out a small frown.
endless tears were about to burst out of my eyes, but i held it in.
does he not remember me?
"oh, the doctor was right." mer says.
"what do you mean?" i ask, worried.
"he has amnesia. he won't be able to remember much, it will take him about 3 to 7 years to recover his memory, but it's okay, at least he's awake," mer replies, and i make a shape of an o with my mouth.
he won't remember me.
he won't remember our memories.
i looked at him again, and smiled.
"it's mackenzie, your bestfriend since kindergarten." i say to him, he nods. in the inside, saying that just kills me.
"you look familiar. you're really pretty," he says, i sad smiled at him.
"and i'm your sister, lauren." lauren says, smiling.
once they didn't notice me anymore, i ran out of that room.
and went back home, crying as i go.
