55~Buddy System

Narration

"Make sure to close up" one man said to the other

The man continued to mop the floors of the cafe after watching his friend leave

He mops with his headphones in his ear and moves to the beat of the song. He turns around to see the mop bucket missing

He looks around and sees all the tables pushes to the door blocking it

His heart starts to race knowing there's only one exit left

He dropped the mop and backed away slowly before slipping on a spill on the floor

He looked down to see that he slipped on blood

He looked up to see his friend hanging from the ceiling

He sat there shock when he heard began to hear voices

"The tables really?" "Come on that was scary" "yeah. Sitcom scary"

He watch the people talk to each other

The girl looked at him "oh hi. I'm Isabella and Ethan and I were seeing if we could literally scare you to death" he man sat on the floor confused and scared

"Which I obviously won" Ethan said confidently. "What no you didn't"

"Oh come on you see your friend hanging from the ceiling and slip in his blood...even I'm getting goosebumps"

"Yeah why aren't you running away in fear?" Isabella walks to the man but he quickly backs away

"You didn't scream once? Didn't your heart at least skip a beat?" She kneeled down to him "your heart skipped a beat" she compels the man into think his heart stopped beating

The man holds his chest trying to breath but can't

"Oh no. You're starting to suffocate" she playfully hold her hands to her neck

The man breathes harder and soon lays on the floor dead

"See I win" she said

"What? No you compelled him. That's cheating" "you never said there were rules"

Isabella's POV

I walk into the dorm ready for bed when someone grabs me and pushes me against the wall

It was Grayson

And he looked pissed

"Feel better?"

He pulls me go another wall with his hand around my neck

"You're hot when you're angry" he throws himself off of me

I knew he wouldn't hurt me

"I did you a favor"

He looks at me "and what would that be?" "One less person to worry about" "how can I not worry?"

"Easy. Don't think about it"

I start to walk to my dresser to get pajamas. He threw us all the way across the room

"You're just like your grandmother" I stop in my tracks and turn to him

"Judging by the fact she survived for hundreds of years without getting manipulated, I take that as a compliment"

He gets angrier but does nothing except vanishes out of the room

Brie's POV

Olivia and I wake up to the sound of multiple zippers opening and closing

We both groan and get up "What's going on?"

I rub my eyes to see that Isabella is what's going on

"What are you doing?" I ask. "Good news. I'm moving out"

I jump out of bed "What? Why?"

"Ethan and I found this abandoned house a couple miles from here" "so you're just leaving? We got this dorm for us to be together" Olivia steps in

"Tell me again why that would make me care" she grabs her bags and pushes past us and out the door

Grayson called as I was getting ready for the day and I told him everything

"And she just left?" "With no hesitation. I thought she'd be back to herself right now. But now that's she's with Ethan...I'm more stressed than ever"

"Maybe it's a good thing she's with Ethan"

"What?" "Maybe now they can balance each other out"

"Have you lost your mind?" "A little"

I chuckle "but do we need to get our mind off of them" "You're right"

"Good. How bout a movie tonight? It feels like we haven't hung out in years" I thought about it for a while and we really haven't

"Ok"

I was pretty excited because it felt like I was reuniting with an old friend

We've spoken to each other obviously but we haven't had a one on one normal conversation in a while

The movie was fine, after the movie however was...not so great

We didn't have anything to talk about in the car ride home

We could've talked about the movie but we had already talked about how recklessly average it was

I turned to look at him driving

His eyes were on the road so I viewed his side view

He dressed casual but comfortable and had messy hair

I thought he was properly beautiful

"You know you didn't have to stunt on me today" he said and I snapped out of it "What?"

"You're dressed all normal and cute while I'm in sweats and hoodie"

"You think I look cute?" I saw him smile and look out his window. I smile and say "you look fine"

There was silence again. I hated that

"How's Max?"

"Who?"

"Max. From that Jimmy kids party" "oh her"

"Yeah how are you guys?" "Uh fine I guess. I didn't really tell her I was leaving so she got pretty angry when I showed up to class and basically ignored her. But since we're on the topic, are you ever gonna tell me what happened to you and Dylan"

"Disagreement of interest"

"You were too good for him anyway"
