"I can't be one of you"

"Be one of what? What's going on?" Grayson said

I had forgotten he was here. "Look" I said putting my hand on his shoulder. "You won't remember this, say calm" I tried to compel him

"How am I supposed to stay calm Isabelle?" he said back to me angrily. He has tears in his eyes

"You can't compel him, I put him on vervain" Ethan said to me

"How come?" I asked him. "Well one day a vampire came to town and I didn't quite know what her intention was so to be safe I put Grayson and I on vervain. Now who was that vamp? Oh yeah, Im lookin at her"

I sighed and said "Well what are we going to do with him? Are we going to explain it to him?"

"No, No way I don't want him to know about this yet. I'll tell him when I think he'll be able to handle it. He has a good heart, I don't want him to turn out like me" Ethan said sadly

"The last time he consumed vervain was this morning so we just have to wait little while" He said. "Ok but in the meantime we should get out of here" I said and we all left the school

We approached Grayson and Ethan's house. "Ok I think the vervain has worn off" Ethan said

"Ok then, lets get started. What do you want me to say?" I asked Ethan

"Tell him to forget everything that happened at the dance. Tell him that we all had a good time and it was normal"

"Ok" I said and looking into Grayson's eyes

"Wait" Ethan stopped me and went to grab Grayson's watch

"OW. Forgot this" he said as he dropped the watch because of the burning. He covered the watch with vervain. "Can't be too cautious"

"Forget everything that happened at the dance. All we did was dance and talk, we all had a good time and it was normal. Now put your watch back on and get home"

Grayson picked up his watch and went back inside

"Ok, meet me at my home let's say...5" I said the Ethan

"And why would I do that?" He said

"For training. I'm going to train you to not go all crazy at the first person you see" I said to him

"Oh and here" I tossed him a blood bag. "You have to drink that within 24 and I'll get you another one tomorrow"

"But there's only like a sip in here" he whined

"What I barely drink some? In fact I had a whole bag left." I said confused

"You think Klaus got a hold of it?" Ethan said

"Maybe but why? Wait you need to drink the blood of the doppelgänger, not just any blood" I said. "Well who's the doppelgänger?" He asked me. "I don't know but we should pray that he gave it to us"

The Next Day

"Before we get started I want to give you this" I said and handed a ring to Ethan. "No thanks. I'm not one for rings" he said and folded his arms

I cross mine as well "we'll then what were you wearing on your finger last week?"

He looks a bit surprised "oh so the first day you saw me, you checked me out?" He smirked

"No I'm just good at observing"

He chuckled. "It's a family ring. I hate it but my dad made me wear it that day"
