Chapter 17:

“I’ll be early tonight. Wag kang masyadong magpagod ha?” he said as he kiss me passionately. “I love you…” he said between our kisses.

After that kiss. He looks directly into my eyes and smile genuinely. He cupped my face and kiss me on my forehead.

“Come home early okay? Ipagluluto kita ng paburito mo.” He chuckles as he hugs me.

“Hayy, parang ayoko na tuloy pumasok!” I giggle. I wish hindi na nga lang siya pumasok ngayon but he has to. “Wag na lang kaya akong pumasok?” I laugh as I pat his chest lightly.

“Silly, you need to go to work.” I push Jed palabas ng pintuan. “Sige na pumasok ka na.”

He stood in front of me smiling so silly. “I love you Leila. Always remember that.”

I smile as I lean on the edge of the door. “I love you more Jed. Forever and always…”

He waves as he went to the car. I watch him as he drives away. Napabuntong hininga ako nang makaalis na siya.

It’s been a week since that news came up. Since Amanda went back here in the Philippines.

Isang buong linggo ring hindi ako iniwan dito ni Jed sa bahay. He never leaves me showing and giving me strength. Nahihiya na ako sa kanya kaya I force him to go to work.

Simula nang dumating si Amanda dito puro siya ang laman ng balita kaya Jed decided that we should not watch television… but I wanted to know the real facts…

 

I wanted to know if she really is pregnant at sino ang ama nang anak niya. Is it Jed?

Bigla akong nakaramdam ng lungkot at takot nang maisip ko ‘yun. Hindi puwede, hindi p-pwede ang iniisip kong ‘yun.

But I analyse it very well… Napailing-iling ako sa naiisip ko. I don’t want to think of it. Kasi in the end, sarili ko lang mismo ang sinasaktan ko.

I got bored inside the house. I decided to send message at Char and Ches, magkikita kami sa mall.

“Hey sis! Okay ka pa ba? Gusto mo bang jombagin ko na yang si Amandalu?” pambungad sa akin ni Chester nang magkita-kita kami sa isang coffee shop.

I smile habang napailing-iling ako. Kahit kailang talaga si Chester.

We chat a bit at the coffee shop as we drink our coffees and then we decided to roam around the mall.

“Chan, wala ka pa rin bang nahahanap na regalo para kay Jed? Malapit na anniversary niyo diba?” Char suddenly uttered while we were inside the department store.

Naalala ko nanaman yun. Hindi ko talaga alam kung anong bibilhin kong gift para kay Jed. It seems like he had everything.

I sigh. “Hindi ko nga alam kung anong ire-regalo ko kay Jed. Para kasing lahat ng bagay ay nasa kanya na.”

We continue on walking when suddenly, Char snap her finger. “I know kung ano ang Maibibigay mo kay Jed na gift!” nangingislap pa yung mga mata niya as she said those words.
