Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore - 1985

★★★

"You know what to do if you want to come home early?" Hopper asked, some cheesy pop song El had shifted the radio to when they got in the car.

"Yes," she said, rolling her eyes, she watched as he was going to badger her with yet another question. "Can I go now?"

She'd been waiting for this for months, as it came out that she was Hopper's girl. Not an experiment from the lab with just a number to her name.

"Ok, go have fun," he said, pushing a small bag of quarters and some dollar bills for food if she wanted it. "I'll be out here with Joyce when you want to come home," he gave her hair a ruffle as Mike, Lucas, Dustin and Max arrived at the Arcade. Joyce's car pulled up next to the Chief's.

"Bye, dad!" She exclaimed, quickly getting out of the car, and running to her friends, only turning back once to see the shock written on his face. She'd been building the courage to call him 'dad' for a long time. It only came out as a 'reflex' as Will would call it.

But she's glad that she did, as she watched a bright smile wash over his face. 'I'm looking after him, Sara. I promise'.

"Mike."
