Placing my arm around her shoulder, we watched Summer walk down our driveway. She insisted we didn't need to drop her off, and she's old enough to walk to High School on her own, but Bethany only agreed if her niece, Jasmine, walked with her.

We smiled at the two of them waving goodbye to us, eyes twinkling with determination. They both had gorgeous eyes, and though I'd never admit to their faces, I always thought that Summer's were prettier. They were the exact same shade as Bethany's, a deep, emerald green. Jasmine has the same sea foam colour as everyone else in their family.

"She's gonna be fine Alex," Bethany mutters to me, still staring after them.

"I know."
