A Ghosts Secrets

The New King

Once the doors in front of Phantom were open he walked into the room and walked down the aisle. He was wearing a new pair of white combat boots, black pants, and white belt. He had a long sleeved black shirt on and white gloves, he had insisted on the gloves since he had scars on his hands.

The thing he liked most about his new outfit was the cloak, it was white and it seemed to turn into flames towards the bottom. Parts of it would come off and new pieces appeared, it was like an actual flame that had been made into a cloak. The cloak had a hood but he wasn't wearing it at the moment, he wanted everyone to know it was really him.

Clockwork was at the end of the aisle at the top of exactly nine steps, with him were Dora, Pandora, Frostbite, and Fright Knight. Once Phantom walked up the steps he stopped over six feet away from Clockwork. He got on one knee and bowed, he made his vows and once the crown of fire was placed on his head he stood up.

He was given the ring of rage and he put it on before turning around to face the crowd and Clockwork moved to stand next to him. "Our new king." Everyone cheered and not long after that the ceremony was over and that lead to the after party. Everyone was drinking, eating, dancing, talking, laughing, and enjoying themselves.

Phantom danced a bit after Ember forced him to and he ate some food, he was happy. His leg had healed because of the energy in the ghost zone, he didn't have any injuries anymore and that made him even happier! The after party lasted for hours, Phantom wasn't sure how long nor did he care, he had fun.

After the party was over Clockwork, Pandora, Dora, Frostbite, and Fright Knight pulled him into a room so they could talk to him. Frostbite looked a bit nervous, "Great one we wanted to ask you why you disappeared."

Phantom sighed, "You might want to sit down for this." Everyone sat down and Phantom told them what happened to him and once he was done he realized something. He could tell them what had happened easily, well sort of, but he couldn't tell the team or anyone else what happened.

Phantom looked at the five ghosts faces and they looked like they were ready to murder someone! After they all shouted for several minutes Phantom was able to calm them down a bit. Now they were silently seething in anger instead of shouting death threats and curses.

Phantom sighed, "You guys don't need to worry, I got out and I'm fine now." None of them looked happy and Phantom frowned, "I'm going to go change, you guys calm down." Phantom left the room and he went to his bedroom to change into his usual clothes.

He liked the ones that Dora and Pandora had made him but he couldn't walk around like that all the time. It would attract attention and he didn't want anyone other than the other ghosts to know he was the ghost king. Phantom changed his clothes and hung the outfit in his closet so it wouldn't get wrinkled and messed up.

He'd have to let Fright Knight keep an eye on the crown since he didn't want anyone to take it and he couldn't wear it all of the time. He'd keep the ring of rage so that if someone did end up taking the crown they couldn't use it. The crown was useless without the ring of rage and vise versa, at least it had worked against Vlad.

Phantom still had the crown and ring on right now and he walked back to the four ghosts he had left behind. They still seemed angry but not as angry as when he had left and he took that as a win. It was decided that Phantom would stay for one more night before he went back to the human realm.

Phantom went to sleep in his room and he smiled before he went to sleep, it had been a long time since he had felt happy. Of course that ended when he had a nightmare and he woke up in a panic before he looked around. He was in his bed in the ghost zone, he took a deep breath to calm down before he laid back down.

He couldn't go back to sleep so he waited until 'morning' before he got up, the only way to tell time here were the clocks. Phantom ate his breakfast and once he was done he waited until it was time for him to go back to the human realm. Everyone said goodbye to him but Phantom walked up to Fright Knight and took the crown off his head.

"Can you keep this safe for me, the human realm isn't the best place for it." Fright Knight smiled and nodded before taking the crown and Phantom walked over to Wulf and the ghost opened a portal. Cujo jumped into Phantom's arms and Phantom smiled, "I guess you're coming with me."

Cujo barked and Phantom smiled before he waved goodbye to the other ghosts and he walked through the portal. Cujo jumped out of Phantom's arms and into the portal just before Phantom walked through. The portal closed behind Phantom and Cujo started running around and barking, he was excited.

The portal had lead to the mountain and the team had come running when they heard Cujo barking. When they ran into the room Phantom was watching Cujo run around as the little dog continued to bark. Once Cujo looked at them and tilted his head before running over to Phantom and sitting down next to him.

Phantom just stared at the dog the whole time without saying a word and when the dog finally stopped he shrugged. "Well okay then." Phantom looked at the team, "So I'm back and Cujo decided to stick around."

Kid Flash smiled, "I'll call Batman and tell him your back." He ran out of the room and Artemis sighed before looking at Phantom again.

Superboy raised an eyebrow, "So what happened?"

Phantom thought about how to summarize what happened before he ticked off the main points on his fingers. "Went to the ghost zone, talked to a few ghosts, got the other ghosts to calm the fuck down, then I came back. I'll probably get called back to the ghost zone to help with other stuff but everything's fine right now."

Kid Flash had appeared again while Phantom was talking and soon after he was done talking the zeta tubes announced Batman's arrival. Batman spotted Phantom immediately, "Your back." Phantom nodded and Batman walked farther into the cave, Phantom moved away from Batman and Cujo followed him.

Batman saw the dog and paused, "Why is there a small dog in the cave?"

Phantom looked at Cujo before looking back at Batman, "He decided to stick around."

Batman glared at him, when would he learn that Phantom wasn't intimidated, he actually found it funny. "That dog will only get in the way, send him back to wherever he came from."

Cujo actually looked angry and he started growing and once he stopped he was bigger then everyone in the room. Ghost dogs are more intelligent than normal dogs and Cujo was no exception, he didn't like being insulted. Cujo looked pissed and he growled at Batman before Phantom gave Batman a 'you were saying' look.

Phantom snapped his fingers, "Cujo heel." The dog did as he was told and he shrunk until he was a small dog again but he still didn't seem to like Batman. Cujo jumped into Phantom's arms and Phantom scratched his ears, "Good boy." Phantom looked at Batman, "Don't underestimate a ghost, even the weaker ones are dangerous."

Batman nodded, "I'll keep that in mind." Batman looked at everyone, "You all need to come to the watchtower." Phantom's eyes narrowed and Cujo jumped out of his arms and looked like he was on guard, Cujo knew that this was serious.

Phantom looked a bit defensive as well, "Why?"

"Very few League members think we can trust you, that's why the whole team is going to the watchtower." Phantom relaxed just a little but he was still cautious, what would they do if they decided he really couldn't be trusted? If things got bad enough he could escape with Cujo, he could even go back to the ghost zone.

Batman continued, "The whole team will be going, you'll have to convince the League that you're not a threat."

Phantom looked serious, his eyes were glowing a bit brighter and he had his arms crossed. "And if I can't?"

Batman hesitated for a second, "Let's hope that isn't the case." After several minutes the group of teens found themselves in the watchtower and Cujo wouldn't leave Phantom's side. Phantom had his guard up as they walked through the halls of the watchtower, this wasn't going to be pleasant.
