Past Meets Present (1)

Chapter 18

I wore a red dress with a plunging neckline as Damon and I stood at the top of the Cullen staircase . The party had already been going on 30 minutes and we still hadn't gone down. I took a deep breath and grabbed Damon's arm as we decended down toward the party . Everyone stopped and stared as we entered.
I saw some Native American boys staring at me with open mouths . Damon pulled me closer and when we got down , Rose walked up .
" Hello , you look great . " she said .
" Thanks " . I responded .
" I'll go get us something to drink. " Damon said .
" No alcohol ! " I warned .
Damon rolled his eyes and walked toward the refreshments .
" He's charming . Where did you find him ? " Rose said .
" His brother and I were VERY serious back in the 1800's . " I said.
" Stefan ? " Rose asked .
" How did you know ? " I asked .
" Edward told us that you two were in love . " she said .
" We were .. once . " I replied .
Damon handed me a drink as Emmett and Edward and Bella walked over.
" You two look great . " Emmett told me and Rose .
" Thanks , Emmett . " I said .
Rose nodded.
" May I have this dance ? " Edward asked , exetending a hand to me .
" Of course . " I said .
I handed Damon my drink .
" Next dance is mine. " he said .
" I have no problem with that . " I said .
Damon smirked as I took Edward's hand and we danced . After our dance , Damon took my hand and twirled me around into the center of the floor . He dipped me and twirled me and lifted me once .
" Wow , you're good . " I said .
" Years of practice . " he said .
" I know what you mean . " I added .
Damon smirked and we walked back over to the Cullens .
" You two were magnificent . " Edward said .
" Years of practice . " I said , smirking .
Damon chuckled .
We partied more and Damon grabbed me and lead me into the midddle of the floor and we danced to " Party Like a Rockstar by Shop Boyz ".
" You like this song ? " I asked .
" Yeah ." Damon said .
We were the only ones on the floor dancing to it .
I couldn't help those Native American boys staring at me again .
" Party like a rockstar . " I said .
Damon chuckled .
After our dance, I saw Alice almost fall over . Bella and Rose ran over to her and the rest of the Cullens went into the other room with the native american boys . Edward came over to me .
" Come on . Alice had a vision . " I nodded.
We got into the room and same guys stared at me .
" What did you see , Alice ? " Jasper asked .
" More . More then we expected . " she said .
" Wait , what do you mean by more ? " asked one of the strangers .
" A new born army of vampires is after Bella . " Carlisle said .
" WHAT ? " one of the other strangers asked .
" Then we're helping . " said the first one.
Bella protested a little , but the first one wouldn't hear of it .
Edward turned to me .
" Can you still use your power ? " he asked .
I knew exactly what he was talking about .
" No . Edward , I swore I'd never use it . " I said .

( Note - Sydney has a talent , kinda like the rest of the Cullens . I thought it'd be interesting )

Everyone turned to me .
" What power ? " Damon asked .
" She used to be able to manipulate people with her voice. She would sing a certain lullaby and whoever she was singing for would become in a trance . They'd do whatever she comanded .  " Edward explained .
Everyone stared at me .
" NO ! " I said .
"It would be helpful . " Jasper said .
" I can't do it . I'm too weak . I haven't drank human blood in over 50 years ! " I said .
" WAIT ! YOU'RE A VAMPIRE ! " asked the strangers .
" Yes . " I said .
" Touch her and you'll DIE . " Damon warned .
I put a hand on Damon's shoulder and one of the strangers growled .
" Look Damon, I'm tiered .... let's go to bed. " I said gently . .
Damon was firm for a moment but then he nodded .
I turned to the Cullens .
" I'll see you tomorrow . " I said quietly
Edward nodded and Rose hugged me and then I grabbed Damon's hand and lead him upstairs .
