"Today I'm supposed to be meeting Onette and my.. father."
"Hang in there, it'll be alright," Mikio replied.
"I don't know. What do you think will happen?" I asked.
"Well, maybe he's changed? Of course that doesn't forgive what he's done."
"True. I'm just glad to know you're here to support me."
"Yeah. Actually I wanted to ask you something Evangeline?"
"Can it wait? I have to meet them at the arcade in about 10 minutes."
"S-sure."
"Bye Mikio, see ya later." I left.

[Mikio's Perspective]
"Bye," I had to follow her. When else am I going to tell her?
After she left the building, I hopped into a taxi and went over to the arcade.
[Evangeline's Perspective]
"Hey Onette," I greeted.
"Hey Eva! Dad should be here soon."
"Evangeline? Is that really you?"

" "Evangeline? Is that really you?"

"You're so beautiful."
"Enough flattery. Why are you in Japan, father?"
"I moved here when your mother kicked me out. Not that I can blame her."
"Onette, go play a few games. I'll join you in a minute."
"Alright, sure," she sounded confused, "No one ever told her what happened. I can't blame her for being ignorant to our position."
[Mikio's Perspective]
I can hear Evangeline talking to her father from here.

   "Evangeline

"Evangeline. I'm sorry for what happened when you were a child."
"Sorry doesn't change anything. It doesn't heal the burns nor the scars."
"I've changed. I see that now. I know you wouldn't be able to forgive me but hear me out. I'm so sorry for all the times I wasn't there for you. All the times I hit you or spanked you or burned you. All the times I wasn't a father."
"This isn't about me. I don't care about that. It's about what you did to mom. And what you almost did to Onette had I not have protected her."
"You were always so selfless and still are. Tell me how is she doing, Kiria?"
"She wouldn't want me to tell you that."
"Knowing Kiria I should've thought of that before I asked. What about you? Are you planning to go to college? Do you have a boyfriend?"
It's now or never. I stepped out from my seeing box and went over to them.
