His young heart pounded hard
As he watched the stars climb the sky.
Anticipation washed over his veins
As the minutes ticked by and by.
Then when the time was at last right,
Eagerly, he got to his feet,
And with the speed of light, ran,
To where he and his lover would meet.
Soon, they spied one another
Emerging from the night's darkness.
Skin met skin as they embraced
Breaths in a heaving mess.
And in such an embrace they stayed
Awhile as undaunted love
Bubbled in the heart like a
Stream one could only dream of.
And then green eyes met gold,
And two breaths hitched at once
Seconds stretched with only silence
Filling the loving trance.
Soon after, mouths collided
In a heated, passionate kiss
No sound was heard and yet,
Clear was their loving bliss.
But as the moon descends,
The lovers must break bonds,
At least the have embraced
Even for just a single second---
