You sat cross-legged on the fancy red rug and scattered through your memory box of the mushy letters your fiancé would write you before being engaged to him.

A happy smile stamps on your slightly blushing face as you read the first love letter Edward sent you:

“My dearest [Name],

I’ve meaning to write this letter for a while, I’ve never had a hard time saying what I feel but that seems to have changed ever since I met you. We talked for only half the ball that Lizzy set up to shove in my face and reminding me of her engagement to a child…”

You lips let out a giggle as you read it while hearing Edward’s gentle voice in mind as if he were to be reading this to you-this gave butterflies to your belly. The next lines softened your face: Edward had such a sweet usage of words:

“…but anyway, I will stop there before giving myself a nosebleed. I enjoyed the pleasure of meeting you. Your smile was so captivating I couldn’t bear to watch you leave the ball. I memorized those [E/C] irises that hid behind those charming batting eyelashes, and could not manage myself to forget about you.

I wish to see you again. We just met and this magic feeling may not last. With all my being I hope it does! But if this day is all there is I will always be able to say truthfully I know what love at first feels like.

With everlasting love,

Edward Midford

P.S. This is Lizzy: SAY YES, [NAME]!!!!! You and Edward would be SO CUUUUTE together!! ♥♥

You tightly hug that letter against your chest, “Well I’m glad I listened to you, Lizzy!”

You ruffled through more letters and spotted that one letter where Edward had sprayed some of his cologne on. This letter was the one that had you melting for the content that pulled at your heartstrings:

My lovely pigeon, [Name],

There are no words that I can speak, no song that I can sing, and no gesture that I can show to prove my love for you; for the love I have for you has no definition.

How can I describe the sheer joy I feel with the very thought of you? How simply hearing your voice causes my heart to beat faster, my pulse to race and my smile to widen.

A wise man once told me, “When it’s real, you will know,”

I know now that my heart is yours.

Love always,

Edward

At the moment you let you a deep sigh before the doors of your room creak open and you smile to find your blonde fiancé walking in with a worried look on his face, “[Name]! There you are-you had me worried sick, darling.”

Edward paced up towards you and held up your ring hand to plant a kiss on it. It was like the first time you had met him again: Edward worrying about your whereabouts since you were the VIP guest at that ball. He always had the need to hold his responsibility to be a true gentleman and set you as his priority.

Your cheeks had a dust of pink shade as his emerald green eyes focused on your [E/C] ones.

“No, I’m right here, love,” you assure him with a gentle touch of your palm against his cheek and a soft smile before letting your gaze fall to the floor.

The room suddenly felt awkward. There was this strange sensation towards each other where Edward randomly became shy and you had no choice but to match the feelings. You always had the urge to express deep feelings you’ve had locked up inside when the moment felt right, but whenever you did Edward only stared, blushed red as a tomato and would excuse himself from the room.

As each day passes, and the wedding day got even closer, the more Edward became shyer. The wedding day was only three days away and Edward was at the point of acting painfully shy that he accidently forgets to knock on your door before entering and finding you half-naked.

“Uh-um, [Name]…” the golden blond mumbled shyly, his cheeks faded to a light pink as his eyes spotted wedding lingerie on your bed. Naturally he would have the need to escape from non-conservative women, but he had no choice; he was going to see your nude body soon anyway.

“Hm?” you innocently closed in the gap between him and you.

“P-Please finish undressing-DRESSING! And come downstairs. Our guests want to see us introduce our engagement party,” Edward nervously held your hands and slowly began standing, pulling you up with him, “I’ll be waiting outside your door, my love,” and placed a pink heart-shaped paper in your palm before turning on his heels and exited the room.

You unfolded the paper heart and your [E/C] teared up as you read this new letter:

When I saw you, I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew.

Your almost-in-three-days-husband,

Edward

Sir Midford was painfully shy, which is why he relied on love letters because [Name]’s beauty made him shake like a leaf.
