Morning.

"Hm.."

I rolled over from my side.

I squinted.

"Good morning sunshine."

AH..

My heart jumped.

I sat up.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE."

The man sat at my computer desk chair.

"Well.. He said calmly. You left something." He looked at my backpack that hung on the side of the chair.

He has the nerve

I looked for last nights knife that laid on nightstand.

"Go ahead, i'm yours." Replying to my head turn.

I didn't look fully at the man until now.

I noticed his features the especially the giant bruise on his lower chin.

"Are you just going to stare at me?

Am I that attractive?"

I scoffed

"You wish."

"I still have questions to ask you." He said.

"Hold up, hold up."

"I have questions to ask you." I stated in a more sarcastic kind of way

Pause.

"Like HOW ARE YOU IN MY HOUSE?" My voice rose.

"Some idiot left his backpack with his keys in it. "

I rolled my eyes.

The house alarm though. How did he get through?

He seemed to read my thoughts.

"Yeah your alarm scared the shit out of me when it beeped, but I when I realized it was off, alls well ends well."

Why didn't I turn it on?

Unconsciously I ended up hitting myself in the head at the thought.

"So I was wondering why no one was here.?"

"Leave."

"Hm?"

"Leave before I call the cops."

"You can't do that", I heard him stand up.

Leaning over the bed he pointed at the bruise.

"Someone punched me and Assaulted me. It sure damn hurt."

He gave a smug look.

"I don't care you...."

Realization hit me. A man who almost killed me last night was standing in my room trying to negotiate. I need to go.

I bolted for the door to get to the alarm. Panic button. I have to push it.

I reached the top of the stairs with my hand on the rail.

The same arms from last night wrapped around me.
