"Where are you going?" Ma asked when she saw me out of the house

"I'm having dinner with mom" I answered

"Ah. Mom and daughter night out, you should have invited her here" She said

"No. I have a bad feeling of what will happen after dinner"

"Oh come on. We're good terms"

"We’re not yet. That's why I'm having dinner with her so that she can explain. I need to hear her side."

Ma smiled "Alright... Anyway, I want you to give her something from me." She said

"What is it?" I asked

"Wait there" ma said as she went back to the house.

Meanwhile, in Cass loft.

"What do you want for dinner mom?" Cass said as she went to her moms room "You're dress. You're going out?"

"Yeah. I'm having dinner with someone"

"Is it Mr. Higel again? That man has a thing for you"

"No. Francisco is good man but I don't have a thing for him"

"So, who is it you're going out with?"

"Someone" her mom said

Someone? Cass thought. Is it Andy? She asked herself. They really have something and she should know it.

"Do I know him?"

"Yeah. He's one of the writers in The Paper Smith"

She know her mom is lying. Her suspicion rises.

Her mom looked at her watch "I should go" Her mom bid farewell "I'll be back before 10."

"Okay. Take good care" she said. As her mom gets out the door, she runs on to her bedroom to get a coat and her car keys. She has to know something.

"Ma! Do you found it already?!" I shouted through her doorstep

"I found it!!!" Ma yelled

"Thank goodness! What is it anyway? I'm going to be late." I said

Mom went downstairs "Here it is" she lifted a small wood box

"I waited for something worthless?"

"Of course not" ma said and opened it. Inside was bracelet with mom's name carved on it.

"It's beautiful" I said

"It was my first birthday gift to her. I want you to return it to her." she said

"You should give it to her"

"I still have many things to give her back. So, make this the second one"

"What's the first one?"

"My trust." she answered

I smiled "Does love never counts?"

"No, because I never took it away, I’ve always love her."

"Alright, that's enough drama. I'm already late. Goodbye" I said as I entered my car. Ma's really sweet. Her happiness is returning.

Cass was looking by her car. She was spying on her mom who was seated just by the window in an old diner. Her mom was all alone. Maybe she was wrong. She took her cell phone and dialed a number.
