Mountains

Never before

Have my eyes been graced

By their power

Steep peaks

Crumbling

Rumbling

Awe

Winding over the land

A rocky snake

Unmoving

Never-stopping

Endless

Below me they sit

Watching with patience

As I "oo" and "ah"

At their splendor

Their glory

I imagine the climb

Treacherous and long

Pain screaming in my body

Sweat dripping from my brow

But the curiousity

What is on the other side

The next bend

Next cliff

Could hold all the answers

Yet is is hard

I am tired

But all worth it

All worth it in the end

With a spectacular view

The wonderful accomplishment

Victory

Then the other side

All I imagined and more

Yet not at all like what I thought

On the way down

Content with my journey

Complete

With them

The mountains

And the adventure they took me on
