Chapter 26

"Hey Kian" I said as I walked in, thinking my brother was sitting

When I looked up I found my mother, sitting on the couch reading a newspaper. She was waiting for me, I wasn't aware how late it was.

"Hi Emma, where were you?" she asked, keeping her eyes on the newspaper.

"I was at...the mall with Ali and Jess." I lied

She nodded and I hurried to up the stairs.

"Did you tell her something?" I whispered and grabbed Kian's arm

"What? No!" he said

I left his room after making sure. My mother seemed suspicious, I could feel it. I don't think she believed me.

Kian's P.O.V

I don't know why my sister would think I actually told my mom about her and Ashton. Ashton's kind of cool so I don't really want to get rid of him, for now.

Mom: Come downstairs

This can't be good, I thought.

I met my mom in the kitchen, she talked quietly.

"Kian,where was Emma today?"

"She was with Alison?"

I guess that was probably the excuse she used.

"Don't lie, Alison called to see if Emma was home when I got here" she said

"She was with Ashton, wasn't she?" She continued

"I honestly don't know, she didn't say" I replied

I wasn't going to tell her anything, she would overreact.

"What am I going to do about her? They keep seeing each other, I need to do something" she said

"She probably isn't, I bet she was with Dylan and didn't want to tell you because she thought you might embarrass her?" I suggested

I didn't like lying to my mom but I promised my sister. I just couldn't do that to her or Ashton.

"I don't know... I just need time to think about this. Kian, she's fifteen and he's nineteen. What if he wants her to...look just promise me you'll look after your sister. Don't let him do anything to her." she said

I nodded, I know Ashton would never do something like that but i'll make sure.

She let me leave. I wanted to tell Emma that she knew but I couldn't.
