The One That Got Away (Harry Styles Fan Fiction)

Chapter 3: Roxy's POV

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR ROXY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" a chorus of singing entered my room forcing me to wake up.

Nina, Gabbey and their- our parents walked in holding balloons, presents and a tray with breakfast on it. I smiled and sat up as they sat on the sides of my bed. Gabbey put a party hat on my head and blew into a party horn. I giggled.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROXY!" they all yelled together in perfect timing.

I smirked. "Did you guys practice that or something?"

"No.." said Gabbey and Dad at the same time Nina and Mom said "Yes."

I laughed. "You guys didn't have to do this."

"Yes we did! Now open the presents. MINE FIRST!" Gabbey yelled and chucked a neatly wrapped box at me. I caught it and tore it open.

"Oh my Gosh! Gabbey! A Polaroid Camera!? How did you know I wanted this?" I said squeezing her in a hug.

"Other than not being  able to go through an hour without you mentioning how badly you wanted one? Just a hunch." She said sarcastically as we all laughed.

"MINE NOW! OPEN MINE!" Nina yelled and passed me another neatly wrapped box.

I ripped the paper open to reveal an iPod Touch. My jaw dropped. "Nina!" I threw my arms around her smiling like an idiot. "Oh, and don't worry. I added 1000 of your favourite songs onto it already for you."

     "Thanks Neens."

     "No problem."

"Okay now open our present to you, honey." Said my mom handing me a small little fragile box.

I carefully slid open the top to reveal a heart shaped locket. I cautiously lifted it out of its box and and opened it. Inside was a picture of all of us at our family photoshoot. It was the goofy one we took. I laughed as the memories of that day came back. I looked up to my parents and engulfed them in a huge bear hug. "Thanks guys. I love it."

After eating my breakfast and getting dressed, I headed downstairs and plopped onto the couch. My phone vibrated in my pocket signalling an incoming call and I pulled it out to look at the caller ID.

     Harry.

     I answered. "Hey curly."

"Hey BIRTHDAY GIRL!" he replied. I could hear him grinning.

I groaned. "Sorry, I think you have the wrong number."

He laughed. "Same old, Roxy. Hey, I'm taking you out for lunch. I'll pick you up in 10 minutes."

"Woah. Slow down there, Harreh. Don't I get a say in this?"

      "Nope."

I sighed. "No need to pick me up. I'll meet you at the park, okay?"

"Why can't I pick you up?" he whined.

I giggled. "I like walking. Bye, now!"

"No!" He yelled making me cover my ears.

      "Whaat?"

"I don't wanna hang up." He whined in a baby voice.

I laughed. "No problem. I'll do it for you." I said and hung up in between his fake crying.
