(i am so sorry for the late update. i’ve been going through a personal hardship which has made it a bit harder to write, but hope you guys enjoy this chapter. please vote/comment if you like!)

Emma’s POV

I end up traveling to Anna’s myself after winning the argument with Harry about him going with me. It wasn’t much of an argument really. He just pouted at me and crossed his arms after I insisted on going myself, but the kiss he gave me before I left only made me look forward to seeing him again.

Anna’s not her bubbly self as she pulls me into her apartment. It’s evident the news of Liam has been weighing on her mind. After seeing them together last night it’s evident that they developed a connection. She probably cares for him much more than I think.

“How are you doing?” I question before pulling her into a hug.

“A bit downhearted to be honest.” She sighs. “Did you see him? How did he look?”

I cringe at the sight of a damaged Liam molded into the hospital bed.

“Awful. It was very disturbing to see.” I shake my head at the memory.

“He will be alright though?” She questions nervously.

“Absolutely.” I nod, reassuring her. “The nurse told us he’ll be in the hospital for a while, but he will recover.”

“Did they catch the bastard that did this?”

“Not that I know of. I hope they do soon.”

I feel an intense bit of rage at the one responsible for all this heartache and pain. Whoever they are deserves whatever they get.

She nods slowly as I follow her to the couch and take a seat next to her.

“We can go visit him tomorrow if you’d like. I’m sure Anne will keep us updated throughout his recovery, though.”

“Anne?”

“Oh, Harry’s mother.”

“You met his mother?”

“Yes. She’s a lovely woman. She’s a nurse. Harry looks a lot like her.” I smile.

The topic of Harry and I quickly approaches and I could tell she suspects something by the curious smirk on her face. I have so much to tell her. I don’t even know where to begin. It’s insane how much could happen in such a short amount of time.

“Are you going to tell me what you and Harry did all day or what? I’ve asked you both but your answers weren’t convincing in the slightest.” She laughs.

“Well his mother arrived shortly after we got to his place. We were in his room when Anne informed us of the news a few minutes later, but then she ended up asking what happened with me so I told her.”

“How did she respond?”

“Better than I expected. Harry wasn’t comfortable with me talking about it in front of her for whatever reason.”

“How did he react to Liam?” She frowns.

“He started acting strange after that. He had rushed out of there and I found him curled into a ball crying outside.” I frown. “There was something more, though. It was obvious something else was bothering him, but he wouldn’t tell me and kept getting snappy with me. Then he took me to this cafe and things just got weirder. Our waitress was acting strange around him and he seemed like he wanted to leave as soon as we got there.”

“That’s odd...”

“He doesn’t seem to like Zayn too much either.” I sigh.

“Yeah I got that vibe last night.”
