This can’t be real. I don’t know how I should be feeling. The fact that Harry is coming towards me with this beaming grin on his face honestly feels like a dream after what went down tonight. Am I mentally prepared for this? Not in the slightest bit. I’m not sure what to think of the other male he has with him, but he looks nice. Anna’s beaming at Harry and I could tell now that this whole thing was planned. I feel stupid for not figuring it out sooner.

Harry’s dressed in tight, dark blue jeans, a white dress shirt and a black jacket to tie it up nicely. His hair is sleek, smooth and pushed back. He looks breathtaking and I’m desperately fighting the urge to blush.

This whole place really is exquisite. It’s not what I envisioned at all, but it has blown me away. It’s perfectly modernized with large windows, wood furnishings, crisp white tablecloths and what probably is very expensive china. I feel awkward and out of place, but I’ve felt that way all day so I should be used to it.

I bite my lip and try to hide my smile as Harry meets my gaze and takes a seat across from me. The male stranger, who I’ve now discovered is also British, kindly helps Anna into her seat before taking his own.

“You look...absolutely gorgeous.”

Wow. Complete swoon. Does he mean that? I smile a small smile and glance down at my plate.

“Thank you, Harry...”

“You must be Emma.” The stranger speaks. “I’m Liam.” He extends his hand as I shake it politely and smiles.

“Pleasure to meet you.”

What is it with these well mannered British boys?

“He’s Harry’s lovely cousin.” Anna flushes.

Liam smirks at the way she looks at him. Oh boy. It’s pretty obvious where that is going. He has a warmness to him that reminds me of Zayn in a friendly way and thankfully it doesn’t feel awkward around him. Harry rolls his eyes and places his napkin in his lap before sneaking another glance at me.

I’m still having a hard time processing what is happening right now. Realistically, I’m not supposed to be here. If things had gone accordingly I’d probably be home crying in my room over a rude comment my mom made to me, but I’m not. I’m here in a five star restaurant in the middle of Manhattan. Anna told me before we left to just let things flow and not think on it too much. That’s one of my huge problems. I over-think everything and that only leads to paranoia and stress.

I peer down at my menu as a waiter comes over and fills our glasses with water. He’s young. Very young, actually. I would say he’s probably around our age but I guess that isn’t an unusual job to have. His eyes are a brilliant shade of blue that even illuminate in the dim light.

“Oh hey Louis! I didn’t know my dad had you working tonight.”

“He’d have me working every night if he could.” He smirks. “Full table tonight, huh?”

“Looks like it. You poor kid.” She chuckles. “This here is Liam, Harry and Emma.”

She points us out and I keep finding myself looking at Harry to watch how he reacts to things. I haven’t really been able to observe him like this until now.

“It’s great meeting you all. Have you guys decided on drinks?”

“Can we get a glass of Chardonnay for the table?”
