Ashton: “Listen here you little shit, I call the shots. You are nothing here, got it? Stop trying to slack off, you’re easily replaceable. Besides you suck at your job, so it wouldn’t be hard to find someone better then you,” Your co worker sneered at you under her breath as you attempted to make a coffee without your hands shaking. “If you fucking rat on me I will make your life even more hellish then it already is. And by the way, have you ever heard about something called make up? You should try it.” She laughed a little at her own petty joke before walking away leaving you teary eyed and miserable. This was an ongoing thing between you and your co-worker. You dreaded the days that you worked with her, hoping it was at least busy so you wouldn’t have to talk to her in the back but no matter what she would still manage to get some cruel words in through out the day. You didn’t want to quit though, this was a good job, the pay was great and really everything was fine besides her. You turned around, blinking furiously to see your boyfriend standing waiting for his coffee, his usual dimple filled smile replaced with an angry line. You smiled weakly at him before giving it to him, not realizing it was his order you were making. “Are you alright?” He asked as you drew a heart on the side of his cup for him, trying to ease some of the tight tension in the air. “Yeah, fine. Just a busy day that’s all.” You said looking anywhere but his eyes. “It’s her isn’t it?” He said nodding his head to the devil of a worker on the other side of the store. You didn’t answer, instead leaving the silence to answer for itself. “How long has it been going on for?” He asked. “How did you even hear that?” You asked, amazed that he had heard her threats. “She didn’t really try and lower her voice (Y/N), and besides I’m this close to you two. How long?” He said taking his coffee and adding sugar and milk. “Don’t worry about it, it’s not that bad.” You tried brushing it off but he wouldn’t drop this conversation. “It’s not alright. Making you cry at work is not alright! How long?” He said firmly. “Probably since I’ve been hired, so a few months ago.” You said cleaning the counter and moving things around. “Why haven’t you said anything yet?” “Because you heard her, if I say anything it’ll get worse. This is a good day, it’s fine. Its only a few times a week I work with her.” “It doesn’t matter,” he replied. “You shouldn’t have to deal with this. Why haven’t you said anything to me?” He asked, stirring his coffee for longer then he needed to. “Because its just petty bickering, its nothing.” You said. “You should really get back to work.” You heard her say behind you, her tone snide. “You should really shut up.” You heard Ashton say, causing your head to shoot up. You saw his eyes were hard, his jaw set in a hard line, his muscles shaking slightly. “Pardon?” She said her eyes growing wide. “You heard me, if I hear about you talking to her like that again I’ll be having a word with your boss. And if it persists I’ll charge you with harassment. There’s no need for that, what has she done to you?” You stared wide eyed at your boyfriend, his voice steadily growing louder. You looked at the she-devil to see her face was pale, her eyes wide and her bottom lip trembling. You didn’t think she knew that he was your boyfriend and you continually stared at the both of them. “Do you understand me?” He said after a few moments silence. “Y-Yes. Sorry sir,” She said meekly, avoiding his eyes and yours. She walked away, as you turned to him. He was putting a lid on his cup when you spoke. “Ashton…” You said amazed. “Don’t worry about it, it’s fine.” He said throwing your words back at you. You blinked amazed and completely grateful. “Thank you,” You trailed off. He looked up and smiled. “Anything for my girl. Tell me if it happens again though, everything I said I meant.” He blew you a kiss and gave you a smile walking out of the cafe, drink in hand. You turned to your co-worker, to see her avoiding your eyes. You smiled to yourself, happy that this may be the start of a peaceful work environment.

Calum: Calum was always so supportive of you in school, trying to obtain your degree. You were in second year, your courses steadily getting harder. He dealt with the tears, the frustrated screams, and the stress keeping you awake until the wee hours of the morning. But sometimes the tears, the screams and the insomnia weren’t from school work and grades but rather from a guy you went to school with. You two had dated before Calum, but just briefly. Things didn’t click between the two of you so you broke it off with him. Almost four months later you began to see Calum in secret until you finally went public, the entire school knowing you were dating Calum Hood from 5 Seconds of Summer. But that didn’t stop your ex from taunting you, muttering dirty remarks at you, or making you feel uncomfortable. It had escalated to the fact that he had now began to physically hurt you. You could deal with the rumors he spread or the name calling but today put you over the edge. You had been walking to your next lecture when you felt a person grab your arm and spin you around so you were pinned on the wall, his strong body preventing you from moving. There was barely anybody in the hall now that the lecture had actually started, and you squirmed underneath him. “Hey you little slut, wheres your boyfriend now huh? I’m sure I could make you scream louder then he could.” He said his grip becoming too tight on your wrist making you whimper as he ground himself upon you. You tried to move, to kick him but his strength overrode yours. “Let go of me.” You tried to keep your voice firm and strong but it came out in a weak whimper, fear holding you paralyzed. He laughed at you, before bending down to whisper in your ear. “You’re nothing but a dirty little whore, what does he see in you anyway? He’s probably with you because you open your legs easily.” He sneered at you, a voice broke his taunting as hot tears washed down your face. “Is something wrong Ma’am?” You heard an authoritative voice behind you. He immediately backed off, releasing your wrists. “No sir, just a little talk before a lecture.” He said walking away giving you a glare that screamed hatred. You turned to walk away before he could say anything to you. You skipped your lecture that day, speeding home to Calum finally needing to tell him. Enough was enough and you didn’t know how to stop it. You looked down at your wrists on the steering wheel noticing blotches already showing up, an ugly yellow colour brandishing your skin. You walked up the sidewalk tears already pricking your eyes, you pushed open the door dropping your bag and hearing a gasp from Calum in the living room. “What are you doing home so early? You have a lecture now,” He said standing up knowing something was wrong. A sob bubbled out from between your lips as you collapsed into his arms as he held you close. “What’s wrong (Y/N), come on it’s okay. I’ve got you, tell me whats wrong,” He said leading you over to the couch and sitting you down. You pulled away just enough to show him your wrists, the yellow darkening on your skin. He gingerly turned over your wrists looking at them, and then looking back at you. “What happened? It’s all around your wrist… you couldn’t have knocked them… did someone do this to you?” He said, his voice growing angrier and angrier with every spoken word. You nodded your head unable to form a coherent sentence. He pulled you into a bone crushing hug as you melted into him, sobbing as he rocked you gently. “Who baby?” He said as your sobs quieted to muffled sniffles. “You know the guy I somewhat dated before you?” He nodded his head, his eyes never breaking away from yours. “Him.” You said as you began to tremble. “I just don’t know how to stop it… I could put u-up with the name calling and the rumors but… this, I’m scared Calum.” You said as more tears flowed from your eyes. “How long has he been doing this to you? The name calling and stuff?” You took a deep breath willing yourself to calm down. “A few months, I thought it was nothing you know? I know they’re not true and most people did too but… today he just pinned me against the wa-” Calum looked like he was going to explode as he cut you off. “He pinned you against the wall and hurt you?” He nearly shouted, his body tense. You nodded your head, scared about what he was going to do. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes and breathing through his nose. He reopened his eyes and meeting yours. “I promise I will not let him hurt you anymore, you shouldn’t have to feel scared going to school. I will make sure that he understands that he should not touch you, talk to you or be near you. I’m so sorry.” He said pulling you into his embrace, holding you tightly. You nodded your head, easing into him as he held you close.
