I SHOT AWAKE AND I was in my own bed again. I looked around and my window was open, but other than that everything was the same. Except Atlas wasn't in my bed anymore.

"A-Atlas!" I called as I climbed out of my bed. I flung my door open and ran out into the kitchen where Atlas was leaning against one of the counters. "I saw her, I saw Alexander!"

"We've all seen her."

I looked over quickly and in my rush to tell Atlas what had happened, I missed the fact that literally everyone I knew was crammed into the kitchen.

Uncle Jones and Aunt Magdalen were sitting next to Spencer, who was glaring at Remi from across the table. Apollo was sitting in between his parents, Orlando and Lincoln and my grandpa was sitting at the end.

I looked up near the door and they were standing there, Alexander and Blue.

"What's going on?" I frowned.

"They have to tell you something," Atlas muttered. "You can't get too worked up okay?"

"Worked up?" I breathed. "Why would I? You're going tell me where my parents are, right? You're going to tell me they're okay and not dead, right?"

"Valkyrie," Atlas said. "If you get worked up your block is going to break more."

"More?" I gasped. Before I could say anything else, he pulled me into his arms which, miraculously, did manage to calm me down.

"They're going to explain everything to you," he told me and I buried my head on his chest. I already knew what was coming, my parents were dead.

"Valkyrie," Alexander said softly and when I looked up, it looked like she was about to cry. "Your parents aren't dead. I mean... They kind of are, but they're not as well. They still feel things exactly the same way that you do and just because they're Vampires doesn't mean that they love you any less actually it means that they love you more because their emotions are heightened and-"

Blue grabbed her shoulder and looked me dead in the eyes.

"We're your parents," he said.

I waited for someone to tell me that he was joking, but no one did.

"Gee, don't get too excited Val," Apollo muttered.

"You've been in Northrun the whole time?" I frowned.

"We couldn't leave you," she whispered. "We tried, but you were so small and vulnerable and we couldn't do it."

"Then why didn't you just stay with me?" I demanded.

"You're in more danger than you know Valkyrie," she said.

"More danger than I know?" I scoffed. "I've been stalked by creepy men in suits who are hell bent on killing me and bringing back their evil overlord who, by the way, plans on destroying the world or whatever. I was nearly killed by a stupid floating light and some guy screamed until my ears literally bled. There were the Griefs, the house of hell, Valerie and worst of all, the stupid things in the lake. So yes, I may not know the kind of danger I'm in, but it would have been nice if someone could have told me before I had to find out for myself."

Atlas was still holding me, and I hadn't meant to mention Valerie but I did and now that I had all I wanted to was vomit. Alexander looked like I had just killed her and Blue was glaring at the wall.

"There are worse things out there than that," Blue muttered and he brushed his hand against his other arm. I did the same and I felt the two little bumps just above my elbow on the outer side.
