CHAPTER 18: Interrogation

August 24, 2013. Saturday. 7 PM.

“Mom… Dad… This is Tyrone…Ahm.. Boyfriend ko po.” I introduced Tyrone to them. Sabay silang tumingin kay Tyrone. They’re both surprised.

“You have some major explaining to do, Patrice.” My mom scowled at me. And that’s all I need to know that I’m dead. Right here, right now… until I felt Tyrone’s hand reached for mine. Yeah right, I’m not alone. He tightened the hold on my hand, ready to face my parents.

“Hon, not tonight… we have an emergency.” Dad put his hands on my mom’s shoulders, calming her. My dad looked at me and I smiled at him. Whew! Thanks Dad for rescuing me!! *punas-pawis*

“Young lady, we’re not yet done. We’re going to talk about this when we get back. Nagiging hobby mo na yata ang di pag-papaalam at pag-uwi ng bahay. Very un-lady like, Patrice… And what happened with you and Julian, anyway?!” My mom told me angrily. I bowed my head. Nabanggit na naman ang pangalan ni Julian, walangjo naman, oh! (>___<)

“Your mom is right, Patrice. And about you, gentleman…” My dad turned to look at Tyrone who’s still holding my hand.

“I think we also have to talk. Are you free next Saturday? We’re going to have a party here as a celebration for our Anniversary. I’m hoping to see you.” My dad was looking expectantly at Tyrone. Parang kinikilatis niya talaga ito. Whaaaaatttt. Gusto pumunta ni Daddy si Ty sa party? Waaaa!! Bakeeeettt! (T^T)

“You’ll see me, Sir. Thanks for the invitation.” Tyrone calmly answered my dad. My mom gave him a look. Parang masama na agad ang impression ni mommy kay Tyrone ha? Hala. (X__X)

“Good. What’s your name again?” Dad asked.

“Tyrone Marcos, Sir.” Sagot niya.

“Oh, okay. Well then, we’ll be going… Princess, go inside the house. Tyrone, thanks for bringing my daughter home. Let’s go, hon…” nagpaalam sa amin si Daddy then hinila na papasok ng sasakyan si mommy. Nag-paalam din ng magalang sa kanila si Tyrone bago tuluyang makaalis yung parents ko. Haaayyy. If I know, business emergency na naman iyon.

“Your mom doesn’t like me that much, huh?” sabi agad ni Tyrone nung makaalis yung sasakyan nina Daddy at Mommy.

“Sorry… Ganun lang talaga sya, Ty.” I pouted. If I know, gusto lang talaga ni Mommy si Julian for me so she wouldn’t really want any guy for me unless it’s Julian. I hope my mom will give Tyrone a chance.

“That’s fine. Anyway, I’ll see you this Sat?” Tyrone smiled at me. Somehow, na-relieved na din ang feeling ko. It’s not as bad as I expected… though I know hindi pa tapos ang kalbaryo ko… at to be continued pa next Saturday. (ToT)

“Yeah… wear something classy. Impress them.” I suggested to Tyrone.

“Sure thing. I’ll be going, then.” Tyrone told me. Pabalik na sana sya nung pigilan ko sya. Hinawakan ko yung braso niya.

“Ahm, Tyrone… Call me when you get home and uh… I love you.” I don’t know why I’m feeling so shy telling that to him. Basta feeling ko nagba-blush ako to the max. Tumungo ako while waiting for his response. Come on, Tyrone… tell me you love me, too. (>____<)

“Patrice…” he called to me. Instantly, I raised my head up. I saw his face, smiling so brightly at me.  He took a stepped closer then, put his thumb on his mouth then pressed it on my lips after. He smiled for the last time before going back to his car.
