Back when Andy and I were dating,
Whenever he said he loved me, He truly loved me, I would always picture us..finally meeting
And me getting off of an airplane to see him.
When our eyes met
His smile lit up and my cheeks turned red.
And I would drop all of my bags and run up to him in tears and hug him so tight and never want to let go
I pictured myself meeting his family and his little bothers Jack and Anikin that I would sometimes talk to on the phone.
I would go out with him and his friend Luke
And he would teach me how to ride a snow mobile like he always said he would.
And when we were on the phone
And he said those words
“I love you Sarah”
That’s exactly what went through my mind
Until he said the next word in that sentence
Rolland.
And my stomach would start to turn
And that image of us faded into a nightmare of what would never happen.
I wished to g-d every time he said those words
That I could be the girl he loved
I wanted to be the one he thought about when I said those words to him.
But in his mind
He didn’t picture me.
He didn’t run up to me and hug me so tight.
He saw a beautiful girl with blonde hair named Sarah Rolland.
And I wish I could change that.
But I can’t.
I wasn’t his dream girl.
And I could never live up to that.
