For the first week or two, both of us were perfectly fine being friends.

And I was dating Andrew S. at this time, also.

(I’m so sorry I’m confusing, I know.)

But in my defense, Drewy and I were on thin ice anyways, and Andy was only a friend so far.

So we talked and compared our lives;

How different it was in MN compared to MA.

He told me funny stories about his friends,

And I told him how goofy mine were.

We compared and contrasted words in the English language.

He calls a water fountain, like the kind you drink from in school, just a water fountain.

And I call it a bubbler.

He calls soda, pop or tonic.

And I just call it soda.

It was fascinating how different the words were!

And we did this for days and days over text.

A week or so later, we still hadn’t talked on the phone, like, at all.

And so I decided we would play truth or dare.

Stupid silly ones were going back and forth until I dared him to call me up and say “hi”.

And, after saying time and time again that he was nervous, he finally did it.

For me.

Andy: Uhm, haha, hey Sarah.

Me: (quiet giggles)

Andy: ok well I’m gonna go now *hangs up*

……..heheheheheheheheee ppsshhhh HES TOO CUTE!!!!!

What I was thinking ^.^

And after that, we had our first real phone conversation.

Because I felt so bad that I left him awkwardly sitting on the phone that I called him back.

And this turned into one of our inside jokes.

Like, he would say, “C’mon Sarah, don’t leave me hangin’ like the time you did when I called you for the first time”

And it works on me like a charm.

Every FREAKIN time!

That kid just puts a spell on me..

So we talked, and just about around New Year’s turning into 2011, we started dating.

But it wasn’t the cookie cutter way of asking someone out.

Oh, no.

Things with Andy were never normal cookie cutter styled things.

There always was something different.

And this difference was that I asked HIM out.

I called him up right at 12:06 and said:

“Andy, I know we only recently started talking, but I really  really  like you and I want to start my 2011 off the right way. So, yea, IM ASKING YOU OUT.”

And his response was something along the lines of: I was going to ask you but I was nervous and didn’t know if you wanted to or not.

BUT OBVIOUSLY I DID

And that’s that.

We were a couple.

But, he was rreeallly boring after that.
