My boots were crunching on the gravel, and hair was sticking to the back of my neck.
"Riley, I don't think that was the right outfit for hiking" I said, and she glared at me before pulling her maxi dress up. Lucas was looking at her, a smile on his face.
"I wasn't prepared to hike. I was ready to sit and do nothing, not drag my BestFriend out of our room" She said, and gave up trying to make the dress work.
"You didn't have to. I would've been happy to stay"
"Maya... Why don't we all go back?" Lucas said. He pointed something out to Riley, and she turned my back to the front of the group.
"He's right. You've gotten a tan"
"What's going on?" I asked, shoving her arms off me.
"It's- Josh" Lucas had his fists clenched, and his face was turning red.
I looked back at him, only to wish I hadn't.
A brunnete was flirting with him, and he had a smile on his face, an arm over her shoulders.
"I..." I held everything in, as I've been doing for my whole life.
"Maya?"
"I'm okay. It's not like we're dating. No strings! My kinda life" I swallowed down the lump in my throat, and opened Lucas's hands from the fists.
"I'm gonna go back. Not feeling these shoes"
"Maya, I know your hurting" Zay said.
"I'm not! Really, I'm fine. Now can we just- go get some coffe? I'm pooped"
I really was tired
TIRED OF THEM ASKING ME QUESTIONS
We all walked back in silence. Which
also really bothered me.
"Can you guys stop?!" I screamed
They all looked stunned. I expected that
"Maya- What were we doing?" Farkle asked
I crossed my arms over my chest
"Being all quiet! Talk, don't be all Oh poor Maya, Finally being happy when BABAM ITS RUINED!" I assume I had a crazy look on my face, but who knows. I didn't ask
They, seemed to think I was crazy
"Yeah. Okay" Riley took a breath, and kept on walking
"Don't meddle! Please, don't!" I shouted, and ran after her. Probably only making my blister worse
"So, since we're getting coffee, where are we going?" Zay asked
We all smacked him
