Madison wrapped her arms scrawny bird arms around Elliot throwing her whole body onto him. He got a firm grip on her waist and tried his hardest to keep balance. I shut my eyes and prayed I wouldn't be here if they wouldn't fall on top of each other. The short amount of hours I've know Madison and I know for a fact that she would take advantage of the opportunity.

"Of course I will." She said finally giving him a quick peck on the lips. He smiled down at her. "I'm glad. Do you want to get out of here?" She nodded eagerly and released her whole on Elliot to wrap me in a big bear hug. I stood there stiffly and awkwardly patting her on the back. "Congrats." I muttered.

I wanted to be more enthusiatic, I really did. But something in me couldn't help but not feel good. I don't exactly know what that means. I just know I have to push that bad feeling down as far as possible.

I caught Elliot's eye who had the same expression as I felt. Should be happy but not quite there. What in the world was wrong with us?

She turned her head so she could whisper in my ear. "Thank you so much Violet. For everything. I could have never gotten a boyfriend like Elliot without your help. I owe you big." She gave me one last squeeze and stood by Elliot's side who was leaning, arms crossed on the door.

"Well like I said. You two love birds should be on your way."

Madison nodded and tugged at Elliot's hand. "Can I drive? I need to stretch my legs on the petal."

"Sure. Uh.. you can go ahead to the car I'm going to talk to Violet for a sec." Elliot rubbed Madison's arm a little.

She was feeling too upbeat to care. She grinned, said "Okay." And skipped off to the car. You'd swear she just got engaged.

I sighed not in the mood to talk. If anything I just wanted to sleep, maybe take the world's longest bath like I used to do when I was younger. I would stay until my whole body got so used to the warm water it turned cold.

Elliot and I had a staring contest for what felt like hours until I broke away and walked towards the kitchen hearing his footsteps behind me. "Yes Elliot?"

  "Why'd you do this?"

I was puzzled myself honestly. "She likes you a lot. Why shouldn't she have a great guy like you." I smiled for effect but he didn't seem swayed. He sat on the chair by the counter. "I know you didn't really want to do that Vi."

"Oh really? And what makes you say that?"

"Because I know you. I know how you purposely like to hurt yourself for the sake of others. You have solid intentions but its a terrible thing to do to yourself." Elliot's eyes were like scanners sometimes. He had the strangest way of getting information out of someone easily. It got him out of trouble in a lot of cases too.

I scoffed. "I wasn't hurting myself because I have nothing to hurt over. What's done is done and it was and is in the past. You can't keep trying to fix the past Elliot."

His jaw clenched. "I'm not trying to fix the past I'm trying to fix you."

I blinked. "Why in the world do I need to be fixed?"

"Because..." He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "Something about you has changed. I don't know what is exactly but you're different now. Always barking orders at me and barely talking to me. We used to tell each other everything now I have to show up at your house just to get a hello. Have you been ignoring me?"
