Chapter 53.5 — Chelsea POV

Leaving Grant with the Ryans' and asking Nonno to come as well, Gabriel and I went to Oakley, only to find her on the back porch, her neck ducked into her shoulders, her forehead creased, her mouth opened only to close again, not releasing a painful shriek as one of her bones broke. Panting, she curled into herself, "I think — I think I'm changing," I nodded just as another bone broke this time Oakley couldn't hold it in, her mind went blank and she released the physical agony she was experiencing. As Julia came out, tears on her face I turned to Ben, take her over to Kayla's house Ben,he gazed at me, his eyes flickering to Oakley.

I won't leave her, but Julia is going to get upset and she can't control the emotions the baby is feeling, he nodded. "Come on aunt Juju, let's go to Kayla's," Ben said coaxing her to go, her eyes already wet, as she casted one more look at Oakley she blinked away her tears. "You'll be okay Oakley," she said nodding to herself. "Oh — god!" Oakley groaned through another bone break, her green eyes going aqua blue, the tips of her hair turning into white fur.

"You think she's going to be a white wolf?"

I don't think so; she may be like Ben, white with a black spot or something, I replied.

Resting against him, I watched as Oakley did as I had told her before, on how to ease into her shift, relaxing her body as much as she could. Not to fight the things happening to her, tensing up would only prolong her suffering.

Oakley POV

Panting and groaning, when it finally felt like I had no more bones to break, my vision tinted a light blue, dark purple around the edges my looked down at my hands and in their place were my paws, shaking, no longer in pain, I tried to stand wobbling only to fall over. Trying once more I give it my all to move my body to face Chelsea and Gabriel, tripping and unable to work with more legs than I was used too. My heart thumping, my patience drifting, "Oakley, give it time," Chelsea told me.

Sniffing the ground, my senses so much better than before, I pushed my hearing out, listening further than I was able to before. All the normal sounds much louder than before, and instead of seeing things clearly each and every item had a blurry ring around it. Some things the rim is thicker than others.

"Interesting," Chelsea murmurs, "I think it's the energy or maybe aura of what things have that you're seeing Oakley," holding her hand Gabriel stands next to her. Such a good mate, he seems to be with Chelsea at every turn, facing everything with each other.

A pang of hurt vibrates inside my chest, releasing an audible whine, go to mate, Byrdie persuades. And with a new goal in mind, getting to Kieran, I stand strong, my legs no longer weak, I take off to go to Kieran, stumbling a few times until I got the hand of it.

Trying to run when my eagerness doubles tenfold, only makes me roll onto the path, having to stand once again. Behind me Chelsea and Gabriel snicker, but with determination I make my way to their gate, then the backyard, until I'm inside the kitchen getting closer and closer to Kieran's room. When I'm finally there, growling, knocking my nose against the door Jack opens looking down at me.

Swiveling to the side, I enter slowly going to Kieran, until I'm mere inches from him and shaking with anticipation. When I take a look — a good look into his eyes, I can tell something is different. They look empty, and even as my head is moving before him, his eyes aren't moving as well, instead they seem to be fixated on something behind me.

Whining, I try to get his attention, what's wrong with him Chelsea? I ask when not even that works.

"Kieran he just — he remembered something today and since then he's been like this," she responds. Unhappy, I move closer still, until when I drop down with a loud thump, my head is placed right on Kieran's Indian style crossed legs.

Exhausted and unsure of what to do that would help, I remain still just waiting for him to do something, make some sort of move, tuning Chelsea, Gabriel and Jack out.

Kieran POV

I'm nowhere and in nowhere, I'm no one. It's easy to be here, to be somewhere that requires little energy, time or space. I'm alone, remembering nothing bad or good. In nowhere, only my mind is protected, my body is on its own. Only when I return to it will I take on the full extent of my injuries. Nowhere is a nice place to be.

Kieran... Kieran... you need to come out now, someone says while I'm in nowhere and it startles me because no one else have ever been able to reach me when I'm here. Oakley shifted, your mate Oakley, the voice — the intruder speaks trying to pull me out of nowhere before it is time. And unlike before, unlike all the other times I've visited nowhere; a memory is there with me like the intruder's voice.

It's a girl, she has long hair, heart shaped face and green eyes, she's talking to me, her lips moving, and her eyes full of wonder. Around her there is a beam of light, white rimmed she's in nowhere with me, and at the moment, another memory comes along, I've seen this girl in nowhere before.

I've seen this girl before. In nowhere... and inside my mind, Kieran, you aren't going to get hurt if you come out, no one will hurt you I promise, just come out, Oakley is here, she's waiting for you to come out... Intruder speaks again. And slowly, I leave nowhere, searching for the path out of my safe place, until more and more pieces fall into place and white nothing turns into beige walls, large bed, giant window facing the ocean, beautiful white and black wolf resting on my legs, my hand lifts as the intruder voices registers as Chelsea.

Slowly, I run my hands over the soft white fur until the wolf purrs. A soft rumble-like, throat-vibration and I'm no longer in nowhere.
