Katherine's pov

It was dark when I woke from my light sleep I was breathing hard and there was an unpleasant tingle in my stomach "Lillian?" my voice near panic she wasn't next to me I put my hand on the side she sleeps on and felt that it was cold now I really was panicking I jumped out of bed "Lillian?!" I called again I checked the bathroom then my closet not needing the light she was no where in our room so I dashed to my door only to find that it was locked I kicked it and the door still stood "impossible" I said out loud so I turned planning to try and break the glass door but I stooped when I saw a dark hulking shape with glowing red eyes and a grin exposing sharp fangs in it's arms was a sleeping Lillian the monsters mouth opened letting a long forked tongue run over Lillian neck leaving a trail of saliva it looked at me and grinned the corners of it mouth going impossibly high then with it's eyes still on me it took one of its talons and opened Lillian's mouth then finally breaking eye contact lowered it's head sliding it's tongue into her mouth after a couple of seconds Lillian's eyes shot open and she struggled against the monster while I was frozen in place I could hear her making gagging noises her face had turned red and was growing darker shades my heart was pounding and I was trying with all my might to move but i couldn't Lillian's struggling was becoming more feeble and her eyes looked dazed the monster still went on in that position even when Lillian had stopped moving and after what had seemed like an eternity the monster raised it's head and slowly withdrew it's tongue it grinned again but I was looking at Lillian her pulse gone and her eyes void of any signs of life I screamed

Lillian's pov

I shot up from bed when I heard a scream from Katherine so I shook her "Kay! Kay wake up It's just a dream!" her eyes opened they were watery she looked around the room then at me she pulled me to her in a tight embrace slowly her heart beat slowed down "it was just a dream" I said softly she loosened her grip on me but didn't let go she caressed me face then kissed me I heard loud knocking on the door then with a look to Kay went to answer it "are you guys ok?!" Zach asked peering into the room "yea we're fine Kay just had a bad dream" I gave him a reassuring smile but he only frowned and returned to his room I closed the door then went back to the bed Kay was now in a sitting position her back on the headrest she took a deep breath "sorry I woke you love" "no don't be but are you alright you had screamed" her browns furrowed a bit when I said that last part but she said "I just had a nightmare" "um do you want to talk about it?" she crawled over to me grabbed my face and gave me a small kiss "later let's go back to sleep" I just nodded she laid me down then covered me with a blanket

Katherine's pov

Lillian looked concerned but I just smiled and crawled under the covers with her I put my leg over her "is it to hot for me to do this?" I asked "no I like it" I smiled at her words , but the fear from my nightmare still in the back of my mind I kissed Lillian's shoulder then started humming very softly in till I heard Lillian start taking long even breaths I didn't want to go back to sleep so I got up carefully then went to the balcony and looked over at the woods then at the rising sun but something caught my eyes it was a movement down in the woods when my eyes had fixed on to the spot I saw nothing but I felt uneasy so I returned to the room Lillian was still sleeping peacefully seeing that calmed me down some. I heard a soft knock on the door I glanced at lily then went to the door seeing it was Zach at the door "hey, Kay I heard you earlier and well" he shrugged then asked "why don't we go out for a run?" "...yeah i'd like that" i stepped out my room and closed the door gently following Zach out the house we trotted into the woods together after that we started running i wasn't going at full speed because Zach wouldn't be able to keep up. hundreds of trees had been passed when i noticed Zach was starting to lag behind me slowing down some till he was next to me i could see him panting harshly i stopped "sorry Zach" he waved it away with his hand the other one on his knee while he was catching his breath. i chuckled then he looked at me with a fake glare that lasted about two seconds before he grinned then i started laughing using it as a form of much needed release. Zach was smiling at me and i looked over at him affectionately "thank you Zach for being such a good friend" "i try" he winked then gave me a tight hug, with a serious voice he said "i cant say that i know what you're going through, but i can see that its difficult for you so ...just know im here for you" i buried my head into his chest "i know and im so grateful for it" i said softly,then we held each other for a little while in an easy silence. "want to talk about it?" "talk about what?" i asked "everything that's been going on in your life" i stepped out of the embrace looking to the side "if you care to listen" "of course i --" both of our eyes widened and our ears shot straight up. a gust of wind had brought the scent of another wolf who was a stranger "who's there?" i demanded, Zach was sniffing the air his fur bristling i sensed the presence of a stranger fade away "they're gone" Zach didnt reply his brows were furrowed and his jaw clenched "lets return home" i said "ill be behind and see if anyone follows" i nodded then took off toward the house wanting to get to Lillian
