"Remember these old tunes?" Niall asks as "Autumn Leaves" begins to play. "Good memories, these songs..."

"Hurtful memories." I correct him, taking the vodka bottle from his hand and downing some. "Pain staking memories."

"Yeah...all I'd listen to when we broke up was this...those times were such blurs." He sighs, looking up at the stoned walls. "I'd have the others fill me in in the night before, then I'd continue it all over again. That's until I started college and got an internship at this firm downtown."

"You know I was planning on staying in Australia? I was too afraid to go home, I couldn't face you." I admit with my back leaning against his arm.

A part of me was asking if it was right for me to be saying half the stuff I was, the other wondering if either of us would be able to remember what happened this whole day. I wanted to remember but then I thought if I drank some more I'd have a better chance of thinking today was just a horrible nightmare.

"Ha, I couldn't face you! I left when I saw you walk in at your welcome home party, I was thinking you'd pretend not to know me." His voices runs into a whisper. "I'd never. But I'm not upset you'd think that because look at what I did for crying out loud! You've got the right to call me a bitch." I tell him.

"No I don't because you're not. You were trying to help me...us both."

"But that backfired, huh? Now karma's caught up to me and wise you're happy and engaged, I'm alone and stressed." I sigh, bringing my knees up to my face.

"Wanna know a secret?" He whispers as though there were more people with us. I nod and smile childishly scooting closer so I could hear.

"The reason why I actually dated Emma in the first place was because she reminded me of you."

His words give me a funny feeling, like I was happy but still jealous all at once.

"Please!" I yell, making myself feel light headed, "she's a friggin' supermodel and I'm Esme Harris. Emma's like the newly updated version of me."

"Nuh uh! She has your eyes! Well, what I thought was your eyes. They don't turn hazel in the sun like yours. On our first date all I did was compare her to you and how she didn't get half of my jokes, how she worries about eating too much fatty foods...she's a damn twig!" He slurs out.

"Does she make you laugh? Remember when you wouldn't stop laughing at my cheesy jokes?" I laugh a little in remembrance. "She tries, so I pretend to enjoy them. She's no you, but she's still pretty damn amazing." He nods for God knows what.

She's no me.

Obviously. I don't have long shiny black hair, perfect dresses and skirts to march around in, heels to wear with every outfit, nor am I as perfect as her.

I'm Esme.

I have shoulder length hair now, the only time I attempt to dress up is at work, and that usually consists of dress pants and a shirt of some sort. I wore flats and boots almost all the time and to top it off I'm a complete klutz.

"Esme, do you remember at the airport when I was yelling?" A soft voice says and I look towards him so he can continue. "Well I said why can't you fucking see that you're-, and I didn't get to finish. I was going to say that you're the most p--"

"I FOUND THEM!" A deep voice screams making us wince.

"Dammit guys, we were worried you ran off into the woods or something! Do you realize it's two in the morning?" Liam yells as he runs down the stairs of the cellar.

"We were in the house, weren't we?" Niall questions as Liam pulls him to his feet. Next came Jett who took Niall and led him up the stairs.

"You look like you're about to pass out." Liam says with a hint of amusement hidden in his tone. "Here, I'll carry you."

With that, he holds me bridal style and walks up the stairs, to the main floor of the house.

"You should know your makeup is all smudged over your face." He whispers to me as he takes us up the main staircase. I groan in response, imagining myself resembling a panda bear for half of the night. I won't be surprised if Fin gets mad that I stayed up pretty late seeing that I had a lot of M. O. H duties to take care of tomorrow.

"Our friends are getting married tomorrow." I say after it registered in my head. "I'm sad, what if they find other married friends that will replace me?"

"I'll never replace you, Es." Zayn's cute accent rings in my ear. I raise my head off Liam's chest to see my dear friend walking side by side Liam. "Pinky promise?" I ask, holding my weirdly small pinky in his face. So close that it's poking his cheek bones. He smiles and locks out pinky's before sealing it with a kiss. "Pinky promise, love."

After he said that I rest my head back down as we continued down these Harry Potter like halls. Wouldn't that be the coolest, though? We are in England...maybe this is Hogwarts!

"Are we in Hogwarts?" I ask with all seriousness. Liam's chest vibrates as the two of them laugh together. "Yep, we're taking you to the rooms." Liam tells me.

"She's an entertaining drunk." Zayn says to Liam. "Very." Liam agrees.

"So I brought some water here earlier since I know she'll ask for some later. Thank God my sister stayed home or else she'd throw a fit because Esme would talk her head off." Zayn chuckles as we reach my room and Liam sets me down on the bed. "But don't worry, she'll pass out soon, it's already late."

"Yeah, I don't mind, I'm still stuck in my old time zone so she can talk as much as she likes." Liam says, sitting on the chair next to my bed.

"Okay, I'm gone. Goodnight you two." Zayn gives us the peace sign as he walks out my room. "Bye, bye!" I stress out as he shuts the door behind him. "That's my best friend, Liam."

"I know he is, now let me get this black stuff off your cheeks." He smiles, taking a damp towel and gently wipes my face from my ruined makeup.

"I'm going crazy, Liam, I swear to you I am." I sigh after a moment of silence. I hate when it's quite and there's another person with you, like that's no fun. "You are? Why's that?" He questions with a small grin.

"I suck at relationships. I suck at picking guys to date...they all end up being cocky assholes or when I do end up with a good guy I just mess it up like always. I think when I was young a witch cursed me and now it's making me crazy. Next time we see each other will be in a asylum."

"That's be cool to tell people, that one of my friends is in an asylum because she's insane. Great conversation starter."

"Hello kind sir, did you know my dear old friend is mentally unstable?" I use a fake British accent.

"Oh really now? And how did that happen?" Liam says, playing along. "That poor child was cursed my a wicked witch! She was cursed to not be able to maintain a spouse!" I respond dramatically.

"How dreadful! No wonder she's not so well in the head, I'll keep her in my prayers."

"Oh will you? You are such a kind soul, I just hope she gets better that way when we speak it isn't with her it isn't in that asylum."

"Why thank you ma'am, I hope you'll get to see her in a more stable environment one day."

Before I could continue I burst into a fit of laughter and Liam joins. This is why I love my friends so much.

(A/N: :( I want to know what Niall's gonna say, am I right? *evil laughs*
