Esme's POV

"The asshole who followed you to Australia just to see the girl he loved with another guy."

The words made it seem as though he had just tossed heavy bricks at me as I slowly turned to face him. "You mean the red head with the blue eyes?"

He nods but doesn't care to look at me. Anger floods through my body and I run up to him. "My dad has a cousin, Carol, who lives there and who I had stayed with in the beginning. My first day was hell and I ended up somewhere in the desert because all I could think about was you! So Carol was so worried for my safety, so she told her ginger haired son to chaperon my stay, dumb ass! You think I would hook up with some guy the day after we broke up?" I literally scream, drawing attention around us. Luckily this was the city and I'm sure this isn't the weirdest thing these people have seen.

"What?" He croaks, his eyes looking like they're rimmed with tears.

"You heard me, asshole! Just because I gave a shit about your future doesn't mean that I wanted to do it with every guy in sight!" I yell, trying my best not to slap his already rosy cheek. He stays quite and I groan with utter annoyance before pushing past him and heading back in the restaurant.

Poor Emma, there was obviously something going on and she's not stupid.

"Dammit Esme, I had to leave because I lied and said you had lady issues and you needed my help!" Taylor shrieks, attacking my face with a tissue when she sees me near the bathrooms. "Good excuse." I commend her as she fixes my hair and throws her cardigan around me. She's going to be a hell of a good mother.

She smiles and lifts my chin up before steering us back to our table.

"Oh, Esme, if you needed a pad I could've given you my emergency one." Emma attempts to whisper across the table but Harry catches it and laughs at her clueless remark. "Oh no, it's fine, Taylor usually has me covered. But those lines are crazy, it's like everyone needs to go pee! Even the men's bathroom line is long." I tell her, saving the blonde who was inching closer to his seat's ass. I shouldn't have, but I want them to be together since whatever "us" there was, was spiraling down hill.

"Yeah, it had me waiting there for a good ten minutes." Niall adds as he sits by his fiancé and kisses her cheek. As much as I tried not to, I roll my eyes but fixate my attention back to Harry.

"I ordered for you when you were gone." He whispers wise fixing a strand of hair on my face. "I know you love that pasta dish so much, the ones with the broccoli cheese thing."

"You remembered that?" I say with a tiny gasp. He nods his head and answers, "We had it on out date on the senior trip."

"You guys went on a date?" Niall asks making me jump. That was random as hell and he still as the balls to speak to me? Well he's not getting a word out of me. "Oh, yeah, and we went dancing. Remember that babe? It was one of the best dates I had." Harry smiles . "I'm sure we looked like a train wreck, but it was really fun to have a decent date." I smile up at him.

"What'd you mean?" They all ask like a creepy movie. You know, where the twins speak in unison.

"Well, you guys remember that guy I dated before we went out?" I say mostly to Harry, but sure to include Niall in the mix. Harry nods and picks up immediately on what I was planning to do. "Yeah, he never took me out on a real date before. He was too caught up in himself to do anything like that."

"Or he was too stuck between every detention, suspension and girl to realize he had a perfect girl to love." Harry says right after I finish and my stomach flutters when the words "perfect girl to love" left his mouth. It came out so fast, he didn't even know what he'd said till it registered. I was least from perfect then and now, but what he'd said wasn't just another flirty line.
