Moderna Natale
The title means "Modern Christmas" in English language. Christmas is now approaching our towns. Let us fill the air with love, joy and happiness. Here is a little poem I wrote I would like to share to you.
It was the night of Christmas,
joyous like other years;
Of little Jesus in a manger
Happiness and joy it bears;
A bright star shone alone
on a cold dark starry night
Come three great merchants
Guided with Jesus’ light;
Children and old come whistling
down the busiest town;
With every house decorated
with balls and lights abound;
People were exchanging gifts,
sweet cards and each other's love;
Choirs filled the air with music
Like singing angels from above;
The fireplaces were hanged
with stockings in a row;
They were filled by an old man
driving through the snow;
Down the stairs children ran
Hoping for their presents to get;
Presents, and presents alone
that’s what children can't forget;
It was then that Santa Clause,
of flying reindeers atop
And not Jesus, the creator of All
existed in Children’s heart;
The modern christmas years
grew more than a toddle
And bit by bit, Jesus was replaced
by new Christmas models;
Let us always remember
who created this Holy day;
Down the halls show the joy,
the sweetness, the gay;
It was the night of Christmas,
Different from year to year;
Have a good night and a
Merry Christmas, my dear
