Speak Not, My Beloved
Speak not, my beloved
For you conquer your word;
Time will not carry us forthwith
in front of the Mighty Lord
Speak not, my beloved
All the four winds listened long
You nodded slow a sweet "yes"
Companied by a glorious song
Speak not, my beloved
Thunder-voices air did smite
For how perfect you were
And never shall be unright
Speak not, my beloved
For vow will make you speak;
Men's eyes gape open as you marched
Yet you remained as meek
Speak not, my beloved
For I had witnessed no more
As your gentle lips touched mine
Followed with a joyous lore
But speak not, my beloved
For days turned to years
Yet your happy smiles were rare
Was there a doubt, my Dear?
Speak no more, my beloved
Your word to leave was free;
Uncontrolled but to shed tears
For my wife was now doubted to see
Speak now, my beloved
Answer my great wonder
When will you return to me?
