Chapter 2:

“I know, I know, I’m late!” I said to Jade, my best friend who just happens to work at the OK! Office with me, “I was running late this morning, and stayed longer at mum’s than was planned” I crossed the floor, past all the desks and into my office on the other side of the room.

“That’s all right, you’re lucky your first interviewees aren’t here really, they’re running late and that gives you time to calm down, tidy up a bit and set up for the interview and prepare questions” Jade said, sitting on the chair in the corner of the room whilst I hurried around setting out a comfortable seating area for the celebrities. I pulled the chair from behind my desk into the floor space at the front of my office, along with the chair Jade was sitting on and pinching one from the vacant desks outside.

I sorted out everything with the photographer for the shoot, and was about to start preparing some questions when I heard voices outside, one with a strong American accent, and another an English. I immediately froze, my pen poised over the lined paper of my notebook.

“Everything alright?” Jade asked me, noticing my quick change in posture as soon as I heard the voices.

“Yeah, fine. I was just stuck for question ideas, but it’s all fine now” I replied, sinking back into my chair a bit, continuing with my writing.

“First day nerves I bet. Horrible things, but once you get started, everything will be fine” She was checking over some papers about what was going to happen later on in the day. “Our stars today seem friendly enough, and excited to do the interview so I am sure they will be easy on you” I simply nodded; my head spinning with nerves.

“Ah, and here they are” Jade announced when there was a knock at the door, “I’ll answer and then I’ll leave you to it. If you need me, you know where I am and you know where the photo shoot is taking place don’t you? In the studio room at the end of the hall?” Again, I nodded, not wanting to speak because I was afraid of the squeak that would come out of my mouth if I did open it.

Jade greeted them and left, leaving me with two very shocked faces when they noticed me sat in front of them. It’s been four years, and we were certain we would never see each other again.

“Rose? Is that you?” A soft voice said, making me look up again and look at the beautiful blonde stood in front of me. Her long hair lightly curled and her make up kept natural with a pale bronze glow to her skin.

“Y-yea..” I coughed. “Yeah, it’s uh, it’s me” I smiled faintly at her, before gesturing to the chairs in front of my big desk one, “Uh, would you like to take a seat?”

“Sure” She replied, smiling back at me, “I don’t know if you remember me, I’m Belle, Noah’s friend” She whispered his name silently, as if she didn’t really want me to hear her say it.

“I remember. It’s been a while.” I replied, keeping it simple. I still didn’t trust my voice.
