For the correct use of verb tenses, please click on the external link located on the right side of this page for the document that you could download.

Hopefully, this could eliminate or lessen our errors when it comes to using the verbs.

In addition to this, I would like to note the following common mistakes that I encounter here in Wattpad:

1) Your, You're, Yours

-Your: is a POSSESSIVE pronoun. Sa Tagalog isa itong panghalip na nagsasad ng pagmamay-ari.

Halimbawa: Ang IYONG sasakyan ay pula.

In English: YOUR car is red.

-You're: pinaikling YOU+ARE = YOU'RE

Halimbawa: IKAW AY matalino.

In English (expanded): YOU ARE intelligent.

In English (shortened):  YOU'RE intelligent.

COMMON MISTAKE ang nababasa kong YOUR WELCOME. Dahil YOU'RE WELCOME dapat 'yon.

-Yours: nagsasaad din ito ng pagmamay-ari. Ginagamit ito kapag nauna nang nabanggit ang bagay na tinutukoy.

HALIMBAWA: Ang kwentong iyon ay SA IYO.

In English: That story is YOURS.

WALA pong YOUR'S ha. MALI 'YON!

2) There, Their, Theirs, They're

-There: karaniwang ginagamit upang tukuyin ang direksiyon o lugar

HALIMBAWA: Pumunta sila DOON.

In English: They went THERE.

-Their: nagsasaad ng isa o mga bagay pagmamay-ari ng maraming tao (dalawa o higit pa)

HALIMBAWA: Nais kong maging kaibigan NILA.

In English: I want to be THEIR friend.

-Theirs: nagsasaad ng pagmamay-ari kung ang bagay na tinutukoy ay nauna nang nabanggit sa pangungusap

HALIMBAWA: Ang larawang iyon ay sa kanila.

In English: That picture is THEIRS.

NOTE: WALA pong THEIR'S.

-They're: pinaikling THEY+ARE

HALIMBAWA: Sila ay pupunta sa Trinoma.

In English (expanded): They are going to Trinoma.

In English (shortened): They're going to Trinoma.

3. DID + VERB

Ang salitang 'DID' ay nagsasaad ng aksiyong naganap na. Kaya ang susunod na pandiwa ay dapat nasa present tense. Redundant na kung may DID na nga tapos past tense pa 'yung kasunod na verb.

MALI: She DID PASSED the exam.

TAMA: She DID PASS the exam.

Ayon... sana nakatulong po ako. Pasensiya sa mga walang kwentang halimbawa, hahaha. Pero sana naintindihan niyo naman.
