Shady Jay

Hi. I am Avery. And this is my story. It was a Friday night and Me, Steven, Ruby and Jet were going to the Pub. We were celebrating Steven' s 17th Birthday. We were young and had just gotten out of Highschool. We all had a fun time at the Pub. Drinking, dancing, even some karaoke! When we left the Pub, we were just going to go out for a little walk. The city was lit up and beautiful, yet at the same time, it was very dark. Me, Ruby and Steven were only slightly tipsy, but Jet was quite drunk, he stumbled and fall a few times, and whenever a car or a person would walk by, Jet began to sing the Spongebob SqaurePants theme song.

As we were walking, Jet and Ruby in front of me and Steven, we came across a tunnel that lead underground. Then we all realised it was just the Tube. Or as we called it 'The Subway'. It was abandoned and old, so trains never seemed to come through.

Jet began to make his way towards the Tube, but Steven pulled him back. Not hard, but because Jet was drunk, he fell over.

"Oh C'mon, man" Jet said.

"Lets go down and check it out!" Ruby shook her head.

"The sign says it's closed." She pointed out. There was a small barrier across the entrance. Jet slowly got back onto his feet and rolled his eyes.

"Well who cares if it ways closed. It can be our hide out!" I shook my head.

"No, Jet. This is stupid. It's way too dark down there. And with you being drunk, you will fall down the stairs." I told him firmly. But Jet ignored me and walked to the steps.

Jet slowly crossed over the barrier and onto the stairs. On the first few steps, he was okay. But on the forth step, he stumbled and fell over, rolling down the steps. We all ran over and stared down into the darkness. It was pitch black, and we couldn't see a thing.

"Jet." Ruby said.

Her voice seemed to echo down into the deep darkness. Ruby shivered and stepped away. "Jet!" Shouted Steven, hanging over the barrier. Steven called a few more times, there was no reply.

Steven climbed over the barrier easily. Then I started to follow. Ruby grabbed onto my arm and pulled me back.

"It's so dark down there! It could be dangerous..." Ruby squeaked.

I jerked away from her and jumped over the barrier, then turned back to her.

"You coming?" I asked, she immediately shook her head.

I shrugged and began making my way down the steps. Seconds later Ruby decides to come down. She ran up behind me and we linked arms. I didn't mind it though, it some how comforted me in the darkness.

It was pitch black. Steven was just in front of me, still yelling Jets name. I started to worry now, Jet had gone missing. then I had an idea. I walked up to Steven, barley being able to see him, and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and stared at me.

"What?" He demanded.

I could see the fear in his eyes. I gave him a calm smile and said "Do you have a phone?" He stared at me in confession.

"For a light" I explained.

He nodded and took his mobile out of his pocket. He switched the phone on and light came through. He shone the light around. There was lots of dust in the air but no sign of Jet.

Ruby was still clinging onto my arm. Her eyes were wide open with fear.

"Oh god. I hope Jet's okay!"

Suddenly, we heard a low growling noise. It sounded almost human. We were all silent. Then the growling stopped.

"What the hell was that?" Whispered Ruby, her voice trembling. As Steven shone the light around, out of no where, a dark shadowy figure appeared. It roared loudly and bounded up to Steven.
