Darkness

I walked on that road
till I reached my place.

I lay in bed,
with a tear down my face.

The darkness crept up,
slowly from underneath the base.

It had a brilliant aura,
exuding an understated grace.

It wiped my tear and held my hand,
Said, "I'm never pulling up my stakes"

I slept in darkness' arms that night,
her heart beating at a steady pace.

She entered my head and didn't leave,
then I felt all my problems erase.

Once my tormentor,
She's now become my only brace.
