I know the reason you turned into a giant asshole isn't because you like it

Everyone thinks this is some new part of you shinning through, but I know it isn't true, I know every piece of you

I know why you pushed everyone away

Why you pushed me away....

It's because you knew I was the only person that would tell you it's okay to cry, and give you a shoulder

You knew I'd tell you it was okay to feel, and you couldn't take that

You didn't want to feel anymore, you didn't want to cry

You thought you were ready to take on the world

But you forgot the world's an ocean and you're in a rowboat

With room enough to seat one more, but you singlehandedly rowed away into the deep blue

And when I anchored you

I thought I'd bring you back to shore

Back to reality

Back to me...

But the tide was too strong

Time was too strong

The distance was evident

The damage was eminent

Our friendship was prominently facing a standoff

But never a shutdown

Because I love History, and you love Politics

Repetition and Corruption

That's us...
