Chapter 7

Damen was treating this as a spy mission he said, breaking me out of the hospital and seeing the world. He took me out and away from the hospital entirely. When we got to a road crossing and there were a small amount of people also waiting there. Damen didn't bat an eye at it, but I was looking at all of them and taking it all in. Some were talking on their phones, and others were chatting with other people around them.

"So where exactly are you taking me Damen?" I asked a bit confused. All I know is the hospital staff will be furious when they found out that Damen had taken me away from the hospital, but honestly, I didn't really care. This is all very exciting for me, and I'd be damned if I allow them into my thoughts to ruin this at all for me.

"It's a surprise." He said with a devilish care smile that could make anyone fall to the ends of the earth for him. The light changed and he grabbed my hand and lead me across the roadway ahead of everyone else. I looked back and no one seemed to care what was going on outside their own little bubble.

As he is leading me to who knows where, I ask him to slow down a little. We don't need to jog to wherever we are going, I'm sure it's not going anywhere, but I didn't know that for sure. "I think the hospital personnel will never let you see me again after today." I said laughing as he held my hand running across the intersections, finally breaking down into a walk and allowing me to catch my breath. This is the most fun I literally can remember...but this isn't time to think about that sad subject. Just focus on the here and now and how amazing this feels. This may be the only time where I just get to have some good old fun and not care what happens later. Just live in the moment as I heard Damen tell me a while ago. I like that saying, especially since I have no moments to relate anything to, but still.

Damen and I walked for another 10 minutes before he gave me a clue towards where we were going. Must have been me bothering him once we passed each street wondering if we were there yet. "Here, I'll give you a clue to where we are going. It's a bit chilly there, so it's a good thing you have that very stunning sweater with you." He said as he walked backwards in front of me smiling. He quickly turned around and resided his place to where he was last. Beside me.

Okay so after I was summoned back inside, I found some things to read, before I was gifted the book. I flipped through a couple magazines, pamphlets (sadly most of the pamphlets were to do with the hospital, oh joy) but there were some on vacation places... I'm guessing someone left them behind. While I flipped through magazines, I saw pictures of kids frolicking in piles of leaves, people in a pool swimming, basically things that kids do, have fun. And I found myself imagining myself as a child doing those things. How I long to remember.

I wasn't paying attention to where about we were and to where we may be going. I just thought about the moment I was in. There was a sudden breeze making my hair go to one side and covering my face. I pulled it back in time to see the sun hitting Damen's face just in the right way as if trying to make him loot even better. He caught me staring at him and he smiled and took my hand.

We finally arrived to where Damen's spy mission/hostage situation adventure for the day. It was a big building that looked about 4 stories high. It was a very long building that looked nothing like the hospital from which we came. It had a red arch at the top of the building with another blue one going through it. We went towards the entrance where there were big automatic doors that when you walked through, they gave a bit of warm air from the ceiling above to warm you from the chilled outdoors. That's when I saw where he was leading me into and oh-my-gosh it was beautiful. I didn't even know what I was looking at, but it was magical. I watched all the other people pass us by while I stood there in awe at everything around me. He pointed over to a area that had glass boards that you could see through and watch the others.

All I knew looking on was that I needed to try that. Even if it was terrifying, I had to experience it, experience something normal.
