1: The Stupid, Absurd Bet.

I snaked an arm over Cody's shoulders and pouted, getting up close and personal. At first I didn't know if it was working, but when I heard his breath get raspier, my heart flipped in relief. Good.

"Please?" I murmured into his ear, completing a simple seduce. I tried not to crinkle my nose at the fact that my lips were grazing his ear, where I could see ear wax coming out of his ear. Talk about a turn off.

"Okay!" Cody said, his voice just barely above a whisper.

I laughed quietly. Too easy. I pulled back and brushed invisible lint off my miniskirt. Tucking my index finger under his chin, I waited until his eyes met mine before I winked and said, "Thanks, Cody!"

He gave me a shaky smile and I walked off, swinging my hips with confidence. Another weeks full of homework taken care of! I sighed contentedly. As I walked through the hall, I heard the familiar buzz of gossip. I only heard snippets of the conversations, but I always gather what I need from them.

"Jocelyn Rhoads is back in town!"

"Could it be that she got even more gorgeous?"

"That girl got some ass!"

I sighed. I thought there would be something more exotic or interesting. As I was about to pull away from all the clusters of students, I heard a little of the cheerleading squad's conversation.

"Yeah! I heard he's hot!"

"Well I heard he skipped second period and still hasn't returned."

"That don't matter, he'll be back tomorrow!"

"I sure hope so. He's yummy."

"He'll be mine tomorrow, so back off." I know that voice anywhere.

Jackie Collins, also known as my personal arch enemy. She thinks she can get any boy in the world. A lot of girls think that, but they aren't a threat to me. Jackie's my arch enemy because she's close to proving that true. She could get almost all the boys she wanted. But the thing is, it still requires a three week plan and involves her shirt being pulled down a little and a faint pucker of the lips. I sighed. Even if I still have the reputation, I could lose it pretty soon.

"Hey, Jocelyn!" Krissie said, coming up right next to me.

I smiled genuinely. "Hey, Krissie!"

She grinned and bounced up and down, energetic as always. "Guess who asked me out?"

I laughed musically and played along with her game. I pretended to think for a minute and then answered her with, "The whole eleventh grade?"

Krissie blushed and shook her head vigorously. I had the sudden urge to ruffle her hair. She was so cute! Only coming up to my neck, she was always plump, but this summer, she'd really worked on herself and found out how to accent her curves. I could tell she worked out, too. She looked good.

Smiling, I paused and tapped a finger on my chin, thinking again. "Who?" I finally asked, not knowing who else to guess, although I already knew the answer to her exciting question.

"Connor O'Donnell!" she screeched, jumping up and down. I giggled as other students glanced at us curiously, wondering what Krissie was so pumped about.

My eyes widened, faking surprise. "No way!" I screamed, hugging her tightly.

As she rambled on about how he asked her out, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt as I remembered my little talk with Connor yesterday.

Yesterday

"Connor, honey could you do me a huge favor?" I asked, murmuring it into his neck as I pushed him into the brick wall of the school. I didn't pull away from him yet. He smelled really good. I fought the urge to ask him what cologne he used so I could tell all the boys I encounter to wear it.
