" She's still crying!" Ao'nung whined and held the small baby—trying to bounce her.

" She's a baby, baby." Neteyam chuckled and handed Ao'nung, Nahele.

" What are you gonna do?" Ao'nung grumbled, holding both of the babies now.

" Well, I'm going to savor this moment." Neteyam smiled.
" But after savoring—I'll start making a cradle."

" Thank Ewya." Ao'nung whispered and struggled to sit down, both of his hands taking up space.

" Don't drop them." Neteyam warned.

" Geeh, thanks." Ao'nung mumbled.

" You know you can put them on your lap." Neteyam cooed.

Ao'nung glared but still did so, watching the babies sit in between his legs and peer over his thighs to watch Neteyam.

" I guess that works..." Ao'nung sighed.

" Of course it works." Neteyam rolled his eyes.

" Whatever! Don't be mean about it!" Ao'nung huffed.

" I'm not!" Neteyam smiled, kissing Ao'nung's cheek.
" Which wood?" He questioned after.

" I like the darker one..." Ao'nung stated and pointed.

" Hm." Neteyam nodded and started to create the base.

" Kiri told me you were going somewhere tomorrow morning." Ao'nung said, tilting his head for a quick response.

" She...She did?" Neteyam whispered.

" Yea. She did." Ao'nung replied.
" So?"

" So...I am. But—The thing is..." Neteyam breathed down and looked to the side.

" What? What aren't you telling me." Ao'nung asked.

" It's not—it...it's permanent." Neteyam looked up.

" Excuse me?" Ao'nung asked.

" It's permanent. But Ao'nung—you have to understand. This is my family." Neteyam whispered.

" Really? So we aren't your family?" Ao'nung stated.

" I'm...I'm taking the kids." Neteyam looked down.

" What?" Ao'nung gasped.

" I'm sorry, but your parents agreed..." Neteyam whispered, looking down and continuing to carve.

" No. It's fine. I hope you got what you wanted." Ao'nung hissed, picking up the kids once more and putting them each in their woven baskets.

" Where are you going?" Neteyam whispered.

" To Ewya." Ao'nung growled.

Neteyam's eyes widened, Ao'nung wouldn't really take back on their mating promise—right?
