Paging Dr Shepherd *Derek shepherd*

𝟱𝟮. 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 {𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗲}

Grace is on the room. She is still technically dead as the doctors stood around her

"Chief, I know the hypothermia is protective to her vital organs but how much longer do you think we can go on like this?" Bailey asked

"I've seen people last as long as four hours." Richard said

" Yeah, but... " bailey said

"No, this is not...this is Ellis Grey's little girl. This is my..."
richard said

"We're all on the same side here, Chief." Burke said

"Sir." Bailey said

"Her body temp is at 86 degrees. She's not dead until she's warm and dead. We need to warm her up to 98.6 and start her heart." Richard said

"Yes, sir. Richard: Let's do a gastric lavage with warm fluids." Bailey said as Addison gets paged

"Addison." Bailey said

"I have to go it's, uh, my Jane Doe." Addison said

"Just...they're waiting for you so...whatever you choose to say will..." Bailey said as addison nodded. She knew Derek, Bella, Meredith as well as the rest of the interns were sitting out in the hall waiting for news on Grace

Grace woke up in what seemed to be like the basement but it wasn't. She sat on the gurney as she saw a bassinet that sat in the corner. She stood up and walked over to it as she looked down at it and saw a small baby

It looked up at her and she felt her heart shatter as she saw the baby. It had dereks hair and eyes. She knew it was the baby that she lost

Grace didn't know what she was thinking but she felt herself break as she picked up the baby and held it in her arms

"That's right I would have been your mommy" Grace said as the baby reached for graces necklace. The necklace that Bella had got her. Grace felt her heart break

"You're our little boy. I know that you are and I'm sorry that I don't get to be your mommy and you don't get to beat your daddy as he's great. Maybe this is why I'm here. To be with you" Grace said as a tear rolled down her face

She knew how she was in the water and now she was here and she knew how none of it made any sense. She knew that it was likely that she was dead

Addison leaves graces room and Derek is waiting in the hall

" Tell me!" Derek said

" Her temps still only 86. There's still no heartbeat. Were hoping once she warms up... " Addison said

"I wanna go in there." Derek said

"No."

" There's a risk of brain damage. I need to go in there. It's Gracie" Derek said

"Derek, you can't. Not for Grace, not for anybody. You're in no shape. " Addison said as she looked to Bella

"Bella" she said as she looked to the young intern. Her face was red and blotchy with crying
