Chapter 19

Isabelle’s POV

“I guess you check out.” The officer told me, whose name I learned was Ted. “The little girl verified everything.”

“Finally! I’m out this hoe.” I beamed, throwing my hands in the air. But before I could walk out, Ted grabbed my arm.

“You’re not out of the woods yet. You’re still staying overnight in jail, Isabelle. Public disturbance. Remember?” He told me and started to handcuff my wrists again.

“Oh, why! Those handcuffs hurt like a bitch!” I whined.

“Get used to it.” He said, hauling me off into the jail cell.

Sebastian’s POV

I rushed into the police station, relieved when I saw Oliver waiting for me at the front. “Where is she?” I asked him.

“They said she’s being held in the cell over there.”

“Did you go see her yet?”

Oliver shook his head. “Not yet. I was waiting for you.”

“Okay. Then let’s go.” I urged him and started to walk down the hallway. “What did she get arrested for again?”

“Child molestation.” He said, like it was the simplest thing in the world.

I stopped in my tracks so fast that Oliver crashed into me. “Child molestation? Why is she being accused for that?”

“I…uh…” Oliver bit his lip and looked away. “I don’t know.”

I furrowed my brows at him. He’s hiding something. “Something tells me that you do know.”

“What are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about how you know why she’s in jail for child molestation!” I snapped at him. “Even though I knew Izzy for only a couple of weeks, I know she wouldn’t rape anyone. She’d probably go to jail purposely killing someone but not molestation.”

“I knew this was a stupid idea. I don’t even know why I agreed to help her. It’s just…” Oliver let out an exasperated sigh. “It’s her, you know?”

I gave him a weird look, but then shook my head. “Wait. What idea? Don’t tell me you guys planned this?”

Oliver stayed quiet.

“Jesus Christ. Would you jump off a bridge for Iz if she asked you to?”

“Actually, I think I would. Only if that bridge was like two feet tall and there was a cushion underneath to break my fall. Preferably cotton cushion. Feathers give me rashes.”

I rolled my eyes and continued down the hallway. “Let’s just go see Iz. I’d rather talk to someone with a peanut sized brain than one with none at all.”

Oliver’s POV

“Oliver!”

I turned towards Izzy, loving how my name sounded on her lips. Seb and I found her seated down on a bench in one of the small cells. She jumped to her feet and stretched her arms out through the bars towards me. “Come here, Oliver!” She cooed with a smile on her face.

I happily came over to her, expecting her to hug me or something for helping her. Instead, she curled an arm around my neck as she pulled me against the bars so close and roughly that I could feel her body against mine. I didn’t know if I should be elated because I was so close to her or scared because she was trying to choke the life out of me.
